how to protect product download page?

Im creating my first product and im wondering if their is a way to code the thank you page were the consumer can download the product in a way that can not be sent out to anyone else but the buyer?

    You can use DLGuard or Amember scripts, and both of them are best in protecting your download pages.

    Amember is really good for protecting your download area.

    Or you can setup .htaccess with a password for a certain directory, then give the password to your users. Many hosting control panels have options for .htaccess.

      I've used Delavo and DLguard. Both great for protecting downloads.

    If you are not tech-savvy you can get DLGuard. If you know how to write code, htaccess will do. My programmer created a PHP script that will generate the download file that only works for one IP address and will expire after two hours but I personally don't know how he wrote that script.

    Frankly I woudn't worry about it too much. People buy stuff all the time and then share on rapidshare and other file sharing sites and nothing you can do about it.

    This is your first product so it is understandable you are sensitive about it. After you publish lots of products you really won't care about these things anymore

    Hi,

    The bigger problem is not the protecting of your DL page, but protecting the product itself. You can protect the page, but once your product is gone, then that's usually what will get uploaded to the file share sites.

    It's an ongoing problem, but not something to distract you from selling anyway.

    Another vote for DLGuard which does a heck of a lot more than just protect your downloads. Sadly though John (globalpro) is right it's after the download that the sharing often starts.

    It is an excellent program and support is the best in the biz. It's worth a look - I wouldn't use anything else.
