Text To PDF Conversion preserving Anchor Text Links

Looking for a program that will convert Word and other text files to PDF. I know there are tons of free ones out there. The problem is, I need one that will allow anchor text to remain a live link. Most of the converters will leave the raw URL live, but not anchor text.

I have old reliable Acrobat 4.0 that once did the job but it's acting pretty squirrely. Any suggestions on a program? I realize I'll probably have to pay, but I need the software. Thanks in advance.

Check out PDF995, (pdf995.com) this can be configured to preserve Anchor Text links, and is completely free for the sponsored version.

However, you do have to wait for a few seconds each time you use the free version of PDF995 for sponsors messages.

Thanks to Martin and hiphil. I've had Open Office for a while and never used it. I found a Youtube tutorial on making PDFs with OO and it works like a charm at preserving those anchors.

You gotta wonder how often do we bust a gut searching for answers only to find them right under our noses. Thanks for the suggestions!

Microsoft do a plugin for Word to save directly as PDF and save anchor text:
