Best Social Bookmark Sites

I know, I'm way behind everyone else, but I haven't really started social bookmarking yet!!

Anyway, the reason for this is lack of time and focus, so I've recently started creating accounts. So far, I have accounts at Stumbleupon, Digg, Propeller, Tagfoot.

As my time is short at the moment, are there any others that get good return for the time spent adding bookmarks? I realise I need to spend time making contacts to get the best out of these sites, so I need to concentrate on a select few to start with, and slowly expand the list as time permits.

That seems like a great site, thanks for the link

How does it work though? Does it submit to all the sites even if you don't have accounts at some of them? Is 50 backlinks too much too quick? I've read that Google prefers things to be more slow and steady.

Hi Igor

Thanks for that. I have tried to use socialmarker before, but it still seemed to take a long time, especially as I don't have accounts with all the sites yet. Maybe I just did it wrong

I just tried socialposter.com and it seems easier to use than socialmarker.com. Next time I make a post, I'll try the latter again and see how it goes.

I just submitted something to social poster and clicked 'start posting' on the right hand side of the screen. It came right back to the same screen and didn't tell me if it had submitted it or anything - is this normal?

Do I have to have accounts at all the bookmarking sites in order to make a submission? Like I said, nothing happened when I clicked 'start posting'.

I did the same thing the first time. You need to shortlist the social bookmarking sites you want to submit to, then click the Start Posting button. Then click the Post button when the page refreshes against each social bookmark site. A new window will appear for each site with you URL and description details in.

My advice is to choose either digg or reddit and focus exclusively on getting traffic from both.

Bookmarking to multiple sites hasn't been very effective for me.
