You'll learn the best lessons by observing what successful, experienced people do. You also need to have enough smarts to understand that not everything they do applies to your business.

Go ahead and register to the most popular newsletters, blogs and visit the most popular forums. What are the most successful people doing? There's your book. And it's free.

If you want some great reading, do this....

Go to the top of the forum and click on the "Rating" link next to the checkmark. This will show you all of the 5 star posts so far which are some great gems!

Next, fire up the printer and print off all of the 5 star posts....If you didn't run out of paper or want more reading, then click on each of the authors of those posts and view their past posts. Now, print off all of their past informative articles.

    Happy Reading!

P.S. If you want something that's easier to pack, then go pick up "Getting Everything You Can Out Of All You've Got" by Jay Abraham. You can easily apply his concepts to Internet Marketing

I'm a big fan of Jay Abraham.

He's done something very few people have been able to do...which is monetize (sell) information. Most people dont have .02 cents to rub together, and he effortlessly sells out expensive seminars, does books.

"Getting Everything" is a great introduction. A follow up of that book is "The Sticking Point". His best book is probably Mr X (Money Making Secrets), which sells for $100-150. Thats pretty much his master reference work. But his getting everything book is $10-15, great intro to his methods and ideas.

This one is absolutely brilliant. Don't be put off by the title. You would ay hundred if this was an ebook. This one is a measly $23 for over 900 pages:

    Amazon.com: Web Marketing All-in-One Desk...Amazon.com: Web Marketing All-in-One Desk...

I have it and it's great!

I've just finished reading Niche Internet Marketing by Leigh Burke. I was impresssed at first as the book is straight to the point, but the more I learned elsewhere the more I realised what was lacking in this book. A lot of the links are outdated and I wasn't impressed with the examples, still it gave me a starting point.

Now I'm working my way (slowly) through the Web Marketing for Dummies which is a massive book. I hope it teaches me some useful things. I feel like I can waste a lot of time reading the same things on the Internet.

I've only just joined this website but I've been pointed in a direction of spending money so far and I don't want to keep throwing money in every direction trying to learn. Is there some useful stuff on here or do people find themselves going round in circles?

The E-Myth by Michael Gerber - This changed the way I run my business almost overnight. I genuinely believe it should be required reading for anyone that wants to run their own business.

Feedtherightwolf must be talking about Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion. Yes, this is an ABSOLUTE must read book.

Also I'd add The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris ... think about outsourcing, and living a better lifestyle.
