The other day I got an autoresponder email. The article included a link to an article at ezines. I am curious how would someone get any mileage or links out of a link in an email to an ezine article?

Also.. About how long do you feel each autoresponder email should be. Is it best to keep each email short?

And how often do you like to send yours?

Thanks!

Hmmm....It could be that he felt that the article on EzineArticles would raise his credibility among his readers. Also, he might get some additional sales just from people clicking on the link in his resource box.

I personally don't feel that there's a minimum or maximum length. As long as you provide adequate content and you're adding value, that's the main goal.

Still, you should always proofread your message once or twice. While proofreading, always cut down on wordiness or extra paragraphs. Also, make sure that your messages are conversational and not rigid in tone.

One of top mistakes among e-mail marketers is not proofreading their own messages....They're easy to spot and detract from the marketer's effectiveness.

Every 2-3 days....When I first started, I used to send e-mails every day...Big mistake! My unsubscribe rate was huge!

I don't know what the mailing list topic or email message was, but you seem to be presupposing a certain purpose for a mailing list.

Could it simply be the author was simply pointing readers to an article he thought would be worthwhile?

... with no ulterior motive of trying to get mileage out of anything - except to provide useful information.

Not every email, and not every link, needs to be pimping a product.
