How To Convince Experts To Agree Being Interviewed By Me?

One of the most common things I ever heard from marketers saying in regards to creating a product you know nothing about but is very popular in market, is to interview an expert related to your niche.

Alex Jeffreys do mention that now. So is Lee McInTyre.

2 burning questions on my mind are:

1. How do I convince experts to agree to my interview?

2. Do I have to pay them $ just to be there when I am going to interview them?

Posting in a normal typeface of the normal size, without all the bold lettering you always use here, would be a good start: it wouldn't cause any resentment, or any feelings of "Why does he always try to make his posts more prominent than anyone else's?"

Cash, exposure or a friendly favor are the only influencing factors available. You could offer an up front cash payment or a % of sales if you can do a high volume of sales. Use the offer of exposure if you've got a high traffic website.

These types of "gurus" tend to mention a lot of things, but never go into the real world details.

If they require me to pay them for the interview I don't want
to interview their sorry butts anyway. What I will give them
is a copy of the finished product with all rights to do with it as
    they choose.

I think you'll find that most will grant you an interview if you
just approach them with some degree of courtesy and respect.

Until you get out there and try it, you will never really understand that all of your 'fears' or 'burning questions' are almost completely baseless.

Experts are usually thrilled to offer their expertise in exchange for some exposure.

      The ones that aren't?

Move on. There are plenty more that will readily agree to these types of interviews.

Just make sure to be courteous, and promise to position the expert as an authority in their niche. Tell them your interview won't take up much of their time. The rest will take care of itself.

I've interviewed chiropractors, busy plastic surgeons, lawyers and more simply by promising to provide more exposure.

I guess you must have some reputation in the Internet Marketing world for them to do
that. If a Guru haven't heard about you before there is no way they are going to do that
for free. You can also visit seminars they attend and meet them in person, sometimes
that do helps if you network.

      That is simply not true.

The internet marketing business is very much a networking thing.

You'd be surprised how far you can get just by reaching out to people, I've learned this myself.

It all depends on your approach.

    Best of luck!

Stop and think about how you plan to deal with those requests in the future. What would prompt you to do an interview? Here are a few things that come to my mind:

    1. To gain name recognition.
    2. To get leads onto my list.
    3. Opportunity to promote my product.
    4. Opportunity to make affiliate commissions from your product.
    5. For pay.

Consider those points and then write an email to the person asking to do an interview and offer them the incentives you can. If I were you, I'd focus on 2 thru 4...

straight out of the coaching lessons, so don't tell my members I shared this hahahaha.

TOP TIP: for getting Guru's to do an interview...

create a product around one of their existing products or services that they can give to their affiliates to help promote that product, and give it to them.

Let them know that their affiliates can customize it simply by applying to your site (make this free and collect email address) then that prospective partner will not only send you his/her best affiliates to customize the book they will have introduced you to their list.

Now the hook is that the interview is all that’s needed to complete the manual on how to best use their product.

You can always just start asking

Lots of "gurus" and "experts" either like to genuinely provide value to help their fellow marketers or simply love talking about how awesome they are - or both.

If you add some incentive such as that you will let them talk about their product (with your affiliate link/or not) and that you plan on driving lots of traffic to the interview which will make them free money for the 30 minutes to an hour they take out of their busy day, you have a good chance at getting a lot of people to say yes.

This is 95% of the "content" of 99% of "guru interviews" I've ever listened to, which is how you get them to be interviewed.
