should I say hey or hi or dear or greeting?

ah creep

I wonder when writing to people I don't know for a new relationship for joint venture or just for a new deal, should I start like "Hi [name]" or should I just jump straight to what I want?

Here is the thing.

I subscribe to a newsletter, they ask for my name.

I put keeron, no capital K

then, in my email name, i change it to Dennis.

when they email me, i reply and the guy just blindly say: "Hi Dennis" when in the initial email he says: "Hi keeron" (no capital).

so, maybe the name makes people don't reply or not interact.

how to start an email for a new relationship?
#dear #greeting #hey

Whenever somebody reaches out to me, i always try to be myself. Let my personality show with the words i use. Words can be powerful but are useless if they are used in the wrong context. I also find that finishing with a engaging question always brings better engagement.

Hope this helps. If you need anymore advice then im here for you.

    Good Luck.

I've pretty much quit asking for names, but in the instances where I do, I change the label from "Name" to "What do you like to be called?" Then I use that - very sparingly, like you would in a real conversation.

Yes, you get some, shall we say, quirky answers, but most people play it straight. Robert puts in 'Bob', and so on.

The initial email will most likely have your name the exact same way you filled it out on their form. Most of the time, it will go into a database and be replaced in automatically in the Fname field.

As far as your question, I usually start out with

    "Dennis,

    body of message"

I would definitely start with some form of greeting, including their name. If you receive emails from them, or if they close out their blog posts, forum posts, or sales letters with a name, that is the name you should use.

Talk like your prospects talk. If they would say "hey" they use "hey." If they use "dear" then use "dear."

I would definitely include a name in emails to make it more personal.
Hey would be less formal than hi.

Why not test it out? A/b test it to see which results are best.
