Hope for a response this time around

Ok, so Im new and getting into the affiliate marketing by promoting physical products on my site. Question say for example I will be promoting western wear, I can sign up directly with actual outlets like cavenders or sheplers directly from there sites and pick and choice which products I want since they both offer affiliate programs or

would it be better to sign up with an affiliate network like shareasale, cj, etc that offers me a network of retailers to choice from that fits my niche "western wear" instead of signing up with each individual merchant itself as I assume that is the benefit of an "affiliate network" signup with them and be able to promote any retailer that fits my niche from there established network with one single account through them rather than having multiple accounts with independent merchants.

I assume the commission is about the same as I seen signing up directly with most retailers offer any where from a 3-7% com on sales also my site is laid out like an ecommerce site or store if that matters
