Default Setting up one-click upsell with 1SC

Hi,

Sorry for the nubbish question, but I did search around before posting and couldn't find an answer. :/

I need to set up one-click upselling with 1SC. What's the easiest way to do this? I have Filsaime's BFM 2.0 software, but building a site in that hunk of sh*t is just aggravatingl. Is there a standalone one-click upsell script that I can integrate?

If not I guess I'll stomach BFM 2.0.

Thanks,

Sean

I'll tell you what I tell everyone who has asked me this same question (it happens a lot, really)

There is a simple, low-tech (but a bit time consuming) way to do this, without any new software, just some ingenuity.

  1. Place your upsell for a product on that product's thank-you page.
  2. If they say "Yes, I want your upsell", notify yourself somehow (either make a database entry or send yourself an email - both with some kind of server-side script like PHP). Include either an Order Number or Email + Customer Name along with the notification (1SC give you this info in a POST when someone successfully orders from you.
  3. Take that info you collected and lookup the customer via their name + email, or their order via the order number. If you can find the order, 1SC will display their CC number.
  4. Use that CC number to bill the customer for the upsell. Maybe send them a courtesy email with a recipt for the new charge if your 1SC settings don't do that automatically.
That's all there is to it!
