| Hi Warriors, I'm at the stage where I want to start selling and gathering e-mails for my list.. LIST-BUILDING (How?) My problem is that I don't really know how to make the auto-responder forms (this should be easy for me to work out and I believe the C-Panel from my hosting company has a facility for doing this) and don't know how to 'collect' e-mails. Is this why people use services like Aweber? It collects the e-mails for you? Say I have a web-page offering a free ebook and people have to submit their name and e-mail to get it, how is that e-mail stored or saved, for me to add to my list? Auto-email eBook after SELLING (using PayPal only, at this stage) I know how to make a PayPal button and add it to my site, but I have no idea to automate my eBook being sent to people who purchase it.What I want is that when someone buys, the eBook gets e-mailed to them, without me having to see someone has paid (from PayPal) and then have to manually send the eBook to their e-mail address. What is the simplest way to do this? I did search for these things but didn't find a suitable solution. Thanks in advance! |

Marc, If you are going to do any serious list building, you want to make sure you use a service such as AWeber. Trying to email from your own hosting account is only going to cause you troubles. For example, if the IP address of your server has been blacklisted because some other user on that server has sent spam in the past, then your emails have no chance of getting through to your list. There are many other problems as well. Use a professional service such as AWeber! As far as building the forms, AWeber will give you an easy interface to build the form and then code to copy and paste on your page. Wil |

Hi Marc, Regarding the Paypal issue and automatically sending the ebook to the customer, that can easily be done in Paypal. When you are making your button there is an option under step 3 " Customize advanced features" that states "Take customer to a specific page (URL) after successful checkout". Simply send the customer to a Thank You page that has a download link on it. Hope this helps. |

There are many other options, such as DL Guard, and my favorite: Rapid Action Profits, which also handles the management of affiliates. Wil

Couldn't agree more re using Aweber. It's an excellent tool for constructing web forms and follow up messages which can be preloaded at designated time intervals onto your site.

Don't be tempted to go with a cheaper or even free listing service. Aweber is the real deal. You WILL have problems with others and if you then choose to move to the best (Aweber) you will lose, or at least partially lose, the list you have built up already. Ask any serious IM, they all use Aweber because it is simply the best. Enjoy the journey. Mandy |

Agreed Wil. I was just under the impression that Marc wanted a way to do through PayPal. Maybe its just too early in the morning for my reading comprehension to kick in!

I highly recommend that you don't use a self-hosted autoresponder. Apart from being a hassle to setup, your mail deliverability will suffer brutally and the mails that do get delivered will end up in your lists junk box. Go with getresponse or aweber. |

| indexphp - thanks mate, I'll pm you on my days off. Appreciate it. What an awesome community here. Ecery day I'm pleasantly surprised! Wilson Mattos - Thank you - I'll get Aweber studying pronto! George Stavrakakis - But then they could simple tell people what the download URL is and then all those people would be able to just download it without paying... Ahh I see wilson picked up on that too... Wilson, isn't there an easier way than gettin yet another 3rd party product. I guess paypal doesn't have an option to send an e-mail with the eBook attached?.. Thanks guys, I was hoping this would be easier but at least I now know what tho start learning. AWEBER FTW! |

Marc, You should also look into a service called e-junkie. It handles your product delivery for you as well as the Paypal and other payment processor integration. It does have a nominal monthly fee, but if you only have one product for now it is about $5 bucks a month and there are coupon codes floating around if you Google them for a longer free trial then offered on their website. Great service! |

Marc, About the first part of your question having to do with optin forms... That is part of Aweber. Once you have an Aweber account, one of the menu items is about setting up your forms. You can make them static forms or popups and Aweber gives you a little piece of java script for your forms that you just copy and paste into the HTML code of your website at as many places on your webpage as you wish to have the forms. You can set up as many mail lists as you wish in Aweber and Aweber will store those lists for you. You can add as many followup mailings to each list as you wish, and Aweber sends your messages as you wish - ie you tell it how many days appart. Aweber handles it all, and Aweber also sends you an email giving you the name and email everytime someone opts in. Hope this helps. :-Don |

Hello, As far as list building I don't bother with my cpanel autoresponder. I go with aweber. It is easy and they collect the email addresses for you. You just have to create your list name and then you create your web form or your optin form. Then just insert it into your squeeze page, upload it and then send people to it to sign them up. When they sign up you have them redirect to the download page(you set that in aweber) to download your free ebook or report. You can then contact these people and make them offers until they die or unsubscribe. Collecting email addresses is important so you want to figure it out. As far as paypal. I don't use them so I can't help you there. Mike |

| Marc - you are absolutely correct but there is nothing you can do about that because the people that share the download link are also the same people that will buy your product and upload it to a file sharing site.

Aweber + Rapid Action Profits is exactly the combination you need to achieve what you have described... Takes the hassle out of payment and product delivery so that you can get on with the business of SELLING...

Use Aweber. for a simple autpresponder you will pay $180 per year, paid upfront. Then there are no more costs for abother 12 months. with the ebook, you can put the link to it inside one of your emails for after the person buys it. There are other options, but get Aweber set up first and write your autoresponder sequence. You want to start with at least 11 emails. Different people say differently, but many great marketers will send an email every day for 10 days, with info plus links to buy. They do this while the prospect is "hot". After a few days you are less likely to convert them. Some people even offer the product for half price after 10 days, figuring out that they probably were never going to buy at the price anyhow. I personally don't like that way though. Some people think it is great as it is extra revenue from people who weren't buyers. |
