Did I miss something? Was trying to figure out how to join the Video Voltage section, when I stumbled across the War Room page and clicked Access out of curiosity.

That's a big increase!

The price change happened when the forum was purchased by Freelancer.

What was $37 for lifetime access is now $97 per year.

Quite a hike in price considering nothing actually changed or improved inside that forum.

      Wow.

I know it changed. Kind of forget it was a yearly thing though.

Iam glad I got in on the 20 years for $37 5 years ago.

But Iam sure you could go in there and find something that would warrant paying $97 a year for it

I think this was primarily based on similar price being charged by other IM forums for their respective premium sections. Having been a member of both War Room as well as premium sections of some other well known forums, I must admit that the WF costing was low - while the quality of content was more or less similar.

And that's fine. Truth is - you could have signed up at $37 or at $20 but chose not to. If I weren't already in the War Room I wouldn't pay $97 for it myself.

Same here. The original concept of the War Room was good, but now it's just a bunch of free WSOs, most of which don't look all that interesting, IMO. But, I suppose $97 a year might be considered a steal for shiny object chasers.

The War Room is different things to different people, Sarah

You can easily find $97 of products (not ebooks) in there without trying.

      $97 = $8.08 month

For that you get a boatload of marketing knowledge, and some golden nuggets.

      2457 threads = 0.003256 cents per thread.

Sure, there is some outdated stuff, but you will get enough new ideas to make your head spin, as well as some important principles that never change.

If you are a seeker of shiny objects and buy 1 WSO a week for a year that will cost you $364, and you will be on 52 mailing lists!!

There are a great many withdrawn WSO's in the War Room for free, and you don't get an inbox full promotions (opt-ins for freebies is against the rules).

But here's the thing, that's rarely mentioned, the WR and indeed almost all sections of the WF gives you exposure, read leverage (some of it for free) that you cannot get anywhere else for such a small amount.

Yes there are other forums, and some good ones, but they are nowhere near the scale of the WaFo.

I definitely disagree with that. Some of the information and courses that are give away for free in there are much better than many of the WSOs that are being sold. I got in right after they changed it to $20 for a year, but when my year runs out I will have no qualms about paying $97 for another year.

I have used many of the PDFs, templates, software, and other good stuff in there to make much more than $97 already.

$97 dollars is a bargain for the great courses in there. You got to dig deep to find the golden nuggets.

But what if you spent $97 and made back $9700 then would that be a waist of money!

This sort of mentality, that the war room is expensive is rediculous. it is good, and well worth it. The examples and info is really good.

If you are one of the ones that think this is expensive, then do not join.

If you go in there with the mentality that spending $97 could make you $500 or even $5000 and you are ready to take massive action, that it is for you.

Anyone that says it is expensive has the wrong mentality, and will probably not go far in IM. Everyone expects that you push a button these days, and you make $100000 on a silver platter!!! Sheesh.

        Agreed.

There are also plenty of paid forums that cost $99/month... though they are of a much higher quality then the warrior room IMO. I've gladly paid the price mentioned, and will continue to do so... The knowledge gained and the networking done is just miles above.

When I first joined the warrior forum I was presented with an opportunity to join the war room. When I saw that it was basically a lifetime membership for a one-time charge of $37, I thought "Tuh! Heck yeah, no brainer!"
Since then I've seen many people complain about that price and I've never quite understood it. Now that it's $97 people are complaining about the price increase, but many of them are the same people who wouldn't join at $37, lol!
I've found it very useful. In fact I was looking for help creating a nice ebook cover just last night. Went in, did a search in the war room and found a great product available free. I've received free webinar software, lifetime memberships, popular wso's given away free, on and on. People who have found success on this site often go to the war room to give back and show appreciation.

The value of the forum depends totally on how you use it. You can go in there and just download a bunch of stuff free all the time but never use it. But that's no different than what you see out here. Very few people actually implement anything after they get access to it, whether they got it free or paid for it.

Ummm.....Maybe, but the entire point of most WSO's is to correlate information that probably IS freely available elsewhere, and channel that into a system that someone is currently using.

I've bought quite a few, and even though I don't always implement every one, I've only ever asked for maybe 3 refunds. I ONLY ask for a refund if it's blatantly obvious that no actual work went into it (in my opinion).......Opinions are like ____ though. Everybody has one.

I recently got a PM to review a product that was horrible. I reviewed it & told the guy to go back to the drawing board.

He certainly didn't want my review out there in public!

Just yesterday some guy sent me a 4 GIGABYTE file on Facebook ads to review.

It's probably the best thing since canned beer & sliced bread, but I doubt I'll ever go thru it.

If somebody wants to look at it, PM me & I'll put you in touch with the vendor.

      Best,

And, I'm sure now that many people who didn't get in at the lower price are kicking themselves and promising if given a second chance they will subscribe at that lower price. Drastically hiking a price on an item will actually put it more in demand with procrastinators and tire kickers who suddenly realize their time for thinking is up and lack of action has cost money. People only want what they now can't have. If this goes on sale, bet on lots of people jumping on it.

Some of us aren't thieves. Some of us despise thieves and many of us have been the victim of thieves. Promoting theft...really? Grow up dude. Stop promoting theft!

The war room is quite good value. The free graphics packages alone are worth hundreds - especially out in the real world. If you poke around and do some searching you'll see there are some extremely valuable offerings in there. One example is a guy who's offering unlimited life access to webinar automation software. That's worth hundreds on it's own. Maybe it's not for you but it's definitely for me and that's just one of hundreds of real examples.

I've used one particular graphics pack of PSDs in there make a beautiful product that went on to make me thousands. Did the graphics make it that valuable? Maybe, maybe not but I know it made my product look far more professional and out in the real world you get muck all for $100 these days. Just because a lot of people are addicted to paying $7 doesn't mean there's no value in a $100 a year subscription.

As with many things, the value is in how you use and exploit it. There's a tonne of value in there. $100 a year is nothing - especially if you enjoy exploring WSOs. It's exceptional value in my eyes. Worthless crap is everywhere. I've paid thousands for worthless crap and I've got amazing value for free.

I do think it could be sold better though. There's no real effort put into explaining the value that's inside that room which might be where these "where's the value?" questions come from. I for one believe it's great value. Put one check/tick on the yes column for me.

I have a different take on the lack of quality or high price discussion covering the War Room.

Thinking back, if I recall, the original intent of the War Room was that members offered their product, insight, experience, service, etc. of a caliber not discovered/offered elsewhere on the WF.

Maybe I'm wrong in remembrance, but if correct, who's to blame ultimately for the material found inside? The price, then or now, is of value to the extent of members giving of their best material reserved for such a membership.

Guess I'm really just thinking out loud (in print).

And, think of what you will pay for Amazon's Prime or even a Netflix subscription, around the same amount per year. Most people won't balk at that $8.00 a month for Netflix which is just streaming old movies and TV shows (from a couple seasons back) and that's just around $100 a year too, but seem to have a problem with the War Room price-tag. You just have to decide what's important for you, being entertained or getting rich.

I am not a member of the war room however that is through choice rather than anything else. I believe I can make enough money by doing what I am doing, and I am. Could I make more by joining the war room? Probably, however why would I bother.

If, in the future, I wanted to join the war room then the fee wouldnt be an issue. Obviously the issue here is that is was such a low price to begin with and now that the fee is much higher with no obvious increase in offerings then people are a bit put off. However, you still need to put it into perspective. Its $97 per year. For the people serious about IM, if they choose to join, then $97 is not a problem.

TBH if it was up to me I would be pricing it at more.

Yeah - looks whether or not you were old or new member in WF, War Room is gonna cost anybody $97. Just missed that lower price - $37 - opp.

Now, my Q is are there any extra benefits we would get for this almost 3x of old price? Or is it just that rent just got quite a bit steeper?

Don't get me wrong. I do value WF and what it provides - there is value here. But, I had to cringe a little when it jumped. But this is a personal choice, obviously.

I think this is actually a business model we should all be studying -- create the infrastructure where other people do the work, provide the content (and therefore the value) ... and you sit back and profit.

While I salute the enterprising spirit of the new owners/company, I do question how long the model will be sustainable at that pricing level. While you don't want a Wal Mart-type bottom-basement membership pricing structure, implementing a mid-level price point would make it more affordable and allow more people to join, thereby increasing the number of people contributing (and sustaining) your monetization model of member-driven content -- where others post, you sit back and profit!

Sounds like this move was governed by an economic theory (with supply and demand contstruct) called the "Invisible Hand" and this was one of those freelancer moves - which is fine.... They can do whatever is in their model and best interest.

So, what in h--k is this invisible hand? Simply put - the Invisible Hand theory states that if each consumer is allowed to choose freely what to buy and each producer is allowed to choose freely what to sell and how to produce it ==> the market (WF, in this case) will settle on a product distribution and prices that are "beneficial" to all individual members of a community (and hence to the community as a whole (?)).

The theory goes on to reason that self-interest drives actors to "beneficial" behavior ( in a case of serendipity - hopefully / maybe / really?). So, more efficient methods of production are adopted to maximize profits. Lower prices are charged to maximize revenue through gain in market share by undercutting competitors (as if there were any here). To conclude, all these effects take place dynamically and automatically.

In other words, freelancer can charge $97, theoretically and allegedly.

To do prospecting, you need equipment which means investing.

So, you have everything you need. The location. The resources. The equipment. All set? Great. Newsflash! You are still not guranteed success. This is not the mountain, the creek nor the equipments fault, but your own - because you're going about it the wrong way. Double back and do better. Hard work pays off if you are willing to get your hands dirty, as well as listen to those with experience.

And for those experienced people that complain about the way things are now - well, don't give a **** about them. They believe in their own way or have something bigger, better in mind. That's okay. Stagnation is though only a dead end.

I know a lot of other membership sites that charge more than $8/mo. And I am a member of a few of them.

At this point, I would say it isn't worth the price right now. It's looks like a dumping ground for old wso offers.

I don't think that was the intended purpose for that forum. I had always thought it was more about making a higher level post that spurred conversation and debate. Then everyone tried to use it to market their wares.

Good concept but failed from my point of view.

I agree to every single point.

The Warrior Room was suposed to be a higher level forum: more pros and fewer newbies, discussing deeper strategies, etc.

        It never materialized into that.

wow what a huge hike in price. Good things I bought it 5 years ago.

Another good things about FreeLance taking over warrior forum is that the price of WSO fall from $40 back to $20
