For the answer to that question you would need to read the terms and conditions for each directory you want to submit to.

    Yes.

Article Directories don't require, ask for or expect unique content. (Or, at least, the only one I know of that does is ArticlesBase - and who needs that one, anyway? )

However, once your article is in Ezine Articles, there's no additional gain at all from also submitting it to any others. No SEO gain; no traffic gain (hopefully); and no syndication-potential gain, either. So it doesn't really matter anyway.

A careful reading of posts #2 and #6 of this thread will help you: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5068872

If you want "more", these threads also answer (some of them in more detail) the question you've just asked, and some other, closely related questions ...

      hi Alexa,
thanks so much for the information you provide. I was considering buying article kevo. this program has to to do with article marketing, however i am wondering if article marketing is still somehow effective for getting traffic, not neceseraly links. at this time october 2014. If i can not get any traffic with article kevo i would spend the little bit of money on something else.
      thanks

        Nope.

I'm afraid not. It claims to be for article marketing. But that isn't actually article marketing at all: it's just "mass article submission". It's partly because of misleading and inaccurate nonsense on the sales pages of products like that, that so many people don't understand what article marketing is.

It is indeed. But that product isn't for article marketing. It just says it is.

Article marketing has nothing to do with SEO. Any time you see the two linked together, that's something else, pretending to be "article marketing".

If you read through a little, by clicking on the links in this thread, you'll find some more detailed explanations. But I definitely wouldn't buy that.

Article submission is the very top on my own list of traffic-generating methods, but that's through article marketing, not through automated article submission: that won't bring you the traffic you want.

instead of sendings to directory site, maybe you can submit it/them to content sharing sites like 4shared in pdf formate.

      This is completely wrong.

It's another potential candidate for the celebrated "Least Accurate And Least Helpful Post of 2014" Award.

(You're confusing "duplicate content" with "syndicated content", but without actually knowing what either of them is, aren't you? Not true. And if you're talking about de-indexing for duplicate content, that is an old myth that has been debunked over and over. Copy and past a sentence from a popular article at Ezine Articles into Google search and see how many results you get. Hell, I've done that with PLR articles to get an idea of how many times they've been used, and have even found those showing up on Ezine Articles.

None, because that isn't how article directories work. Don't try to use them to generate potential customer traffic to your website. That's not what they're for, and it isn't a sensible way to try to use them. The links in post #3, above, will help you.

write an article, and for what ever reason want to submit to multiple directories the best thing to do is change the article for each directory you submit, so each article looks different.
However if you submit to Ezine article directory, I don't know why you would want to submit to other dirtctories

      I wouldn't.

This thread explains why it would be a mistake to put "unique content" into an article directory (which is what you'd effectively be doing if you rewrote it for different directories): http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6780285

Article directories are the lowest value way to gain traffic and as others here said, you should not be using these sites to gain traffic but to find publishers who will republish your articles on their sites. This type of syndication might help you with traffic. And, with that, you would be better served by asking to guest blog on a well established blog in your niche. This would not be for backlinks but for credibility building and traffic as the audience you are speaking to on the other blog is likely to want to know more about what you have to offer if your site offers benefits in addition to the one they are on.

In most cases, yes. Make sure you read the terms and conditions, along with any training materials for each site. You want to make sure you follow their rules.

U can submit. But in some cases, it will consider duplicate content and too many submission of the same content may results in decrease in page rank.

      No; this is completely wrong.

(If you'd just read the thread before posting in it, you could have learned why that belief is so mistaken.)

If this was 2004 rather than 2014, I would have given you a list of about a dozen article directories. Since I don't have any way of generating the 1.21 gigawatts needed to return to those days, here are the only two directories you need to concern yourself with.

        > EzineArticles.com

        > Not a specific site, but if you can find niche- or market-specific portals that accept article submissions, submit to them. These portals are about the only "article directories" you can still attract visitors from directly.

Other than that, I would (and do) focus on placing my content on websites, ezines, print newsletters, newspapers (small town weeklies can be excellent), etc. With the exception of websites, the whole "Google will ban you" nonsense isn't even a factor.

For those that didn't catch the reference:

Very good advice. I especially like the idea of placing content in print newsletters and small town weekly newspapers (since I place paid advertising in these sources, I know they get eyeballs looking at them, and the right eyeballs at that). Now... if only my writing skills were better, or I knew where to find a good, reliable, reasonably priced writer to hire...

BTW.. I got a kick out of the "1.21 gigawatts" reference, since I just watched Back to the Future II... this very afternoon !

Hubpages requires original articles not published elsewhere. But, then again, Hubpages is not an article directory (which I assume you are looking for) but a place to publish content.

Seriously, at this stage in the game, if you're messin' with articles then you'd better be tailoring them to, and posting them to:

Reddit (and the likes), Facebook (and the likes), Forums (and the likes) and Blogs.

They are the way to use articles in 2014. This is the reason you will see a hell of a lot of people saying "Article Marketing is dead" - these people failed to realize that this game changed. If you want to succeed with article marketing: take my advice.

    Peace,
    Skolr
