Does anyone out there know how to build a simple web site on which I can sell a $10.00 ebook? I've tried a lot of companies (1 & 1, GoDaddy, Yahoo, etc.) and their sites just don't work for what I'm wanting to do. I want to have a squeeze page with an opt-in and a free gift, and make it all flow into a sales page for the book, with merchant account and buttons.
Help. Please.

I can help. Please fill out a Project Evaluation Request form at my website, and I'll respond with a proposal and/or follow-up questions.

    Thanks.

NVU is a free Website Builder. Similarly you can check out Ewen Chia's "My Website Builder" which is basically a private label edition of NVU.

You'll need hosting. My personal recommendation is to stay away from godaddy hosting. Hostgator will work fine.

Alternatively, if you don't know much about HTML and FTP etc... then you may want to check out something like Weebly - Create a free website and a free blog

Hope that helps. PM me if I can help any further =)

Do you have a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get?) program?

      For Designing a Site:
      NVU- Open Source

Frontpage- Microsoft (if you don't already have it, don't look for it, they just stopped making it)

      For Uploading A Site

You'll aslo need an FTP client- I like FireFTP- it's a Firefox addon, get it free from Mozilla.org

some people like Filezilla- also open source

OR- You can learn to use the HTML Editor that is within your host's Cpanel

      Hosting

      Hostgator
      Lunarpages

      OR you can use WordPress

*Best way to learn to do this for yourself

      Go to YOUTUBE and "SEARCH"
      how to use nvu
how to use _______ Ftp Client
      How to use _______ cpanel
      How to install Wordpress

      etc, etc, etc

Just about every Internet Marketer has made free Camtasia screen capture videos and put them up on Youtube. All the tutorials you need will be there for free.

KompoZer - Easy web authoring doesn't crash as much as NVU, but it's the same beast...

Truth is.. Getting a template is easy (i have tons) and then editing that to your spec

    OR

Hiring someone affordable that will do a package up (graphics, layout etc..) for $399 range isn't a bad idea either...

Careful with the sites that have hosting and have a built in editor.

They seem like an easy way out, but they sure tie your hands down when it comes to customization and tracking etc.. etc.. and then your locked in and your site is stuck there.

    I agree with Dano77.

If at all possible you should avoid going for the "all in one" package of site, hosting and edit.

If your site is a success and you want to build on it, you dont want any restrictions to hold you back.

Thanks to all of you who have responded so far. I'll be getting back to you. I'm so new on here that they won't let me pm yet.
