Clickbank Tracking Problem

Today 27/09/2014 I logged into my clickbank account, and found a number of hops for products I am not promoting. Also, I didn't find any hops for products I am actually promoting, usually I get around 20 to 30 hops per day for each product. One of the product I am promoting gets 80 hops per day, and it is no longer showing in the analytics tab!!!

I sent clickbank a support ticket. They told me they will reply on Monday 29/09/2014.

I actually stopped my promoting efforts, since I don't know who is profiting form the traffic I am generating !!!

What do you think is happening? I am very confused.

Any chance you've created multiple accounts and logged in with the wrong username? It sounds silly, but somehow a ton of people do that on my websites all the time.

I had the same thing happening with hundreds of hops from sites that don't even exist any more. ClickBank support said "maybe they (hundreds of hops for products that no longer exist from sites that no longer exist) became active some how." It stopped for a while. In the last week they have started again only not so many.

They updated their analytics recently and I think they screwed something up or have a glitch they can't figure out or just don't care.

Were you promoting any of these no longer active products in the past? If so then it can make sense that you are getting hops form them. But, in my case I am not promoting, and had never promoted any of the products that are showing in the analytics tab !!!

And the weird thing is that my account shows that I made a sale from one of these products !!!!

      I am totally lost.

Hops from vendor products and sites that don't exist which I promoted on sites that no longer exist?

You're just going to have to wait on CB support but the answer they gave me was weak to say the least and they didn't seem too concerned so I just ignore it. I'm moving away from CB more and more and using JVZ.

Probably just a bot spidering the cached copies of your old webpages in archive.org or something like that.

Much less mysterious than the OP's problem of hops on products he's *never* promoted.

You can check your affiliate link payment page, at the bottom see if your affiliate ID is there, if not that has something wrong.

Mmmm... that's really interesting! Sounds like one of two things... CB database is querying the wrong data or .. and it's just a theory it could relate to your RSS feed being used by someone else to promote products and somehow your aff id is getting caught.. If thats the case I would secure your RSS feed with making sure your content always has a hyperlink to your own site... That a side I don't think its a problem... Especially if you have made a sale out of nowhere lol....
