I have found that with pre-selling, it is always best to mention that the product is something that costs money.

I used to be scared of telling them the price, as I thought it would decrease my CTR to the actual product.

Since telling people that what I'm sending them too costs money, it made my CTR go down slightly, but conversion rate increased overall, along with profits.

I guess people don't like to be "strung along"

I completely agree. I always mention the price openly (and early). There are ways of turning this to your advantage, in pre-selling.

I have a simple format I follow when writing and first I will introduce the problem. I talk what its like with the problem them what its like when the problem is solved.

You tell your story then I introduce what the solution is and how to get rid of the problem.
