Promoting a Sports Membership Site Through Clickbank. Smart idea or not?

I want to turn my Pro Football Blog into a membership only website. I would like to know if I advertise it like a product and have a decent commission split is there a chance that I might get a few affiliates to promote the site. I already have an idea of what the subscription fee would be. Producing content daily is not a problem for me. I stay glued to the recent happenings in the NFL daily. Please no sarcastic remarks. Yes I know I should try social media but I want to do something different for a change. And yes I have an aweber autoresponder to capture emails.

    Mate it is very doable

Just make sure that the content you are producing exceeds your customers expectations in terms of value and you will be golden

Create a jv page with awesome jv tools and go and contact your competing blogs to put up a banner

    Simple as that

There is so much sports news and information on the internet, radio, newspapers, magzines ect, for free, I have no idea why someone would want to purchase an membership in a sports membership website.

I would be worried about Clickbank's mandatory refund policy for a site like this.

Instead of a member site through Clickbank, why not install a paywall and offer subscriptions or low cost one-time payments to read a single article.

You can set things like number of free articles a visitor can read in a month before content is blocked by the paywall.

You have freemium content- content that is free to anyone who has opted in- like general sports/news stories.

You can also have premium content -only available to people who have paid- like weekly picks, spreads, exclusive content.

I would consider JVZoo as its much easier to get it set-up given CB review process... If I was you I would expand on your interests and see if your insights will help with:
    1) People that like to place bets on sports... Can your advice help with that re: your niche?
    2) People that want to learn to play a better game....
My only point is here .. Is to see if you can expand on your Unique Selling Points... Either way I would say go for it... Its better to do something and learn through the process than to do nothing at all... Good luck with it!!!

I couldn't tell you whether or not a football site would be successful BUT I can tell you that membership sites are a good way to make a living. There is simply no substitute for recurring income. You'll need to use something like amember so that only paid subscribers can get in.

You have to find a way to set it apart from all of the free info out there, as others have said.
