Where to Find Real Affiliates?

Hi fellows,

I am just like banging my head against walls for almost 2 weeks now but I am unable to find the right guys. My target are affiliates from US, UK who want to earn part time and who are college, university students.

So I would appreciate if anyone can share their tips, resources and shed some light on how to get to these people.

I have tried these things but they don't work, oDesk, Guru, Freelancer, RentaCoder etc..

PS: I am not from USA or UK, I live in UAE

Firstly mate freelancing sites are not where you will find affiliates hanging out

Secondly I don't think that you will find too many affiliates that fit that demographic but a good place to start would be launch notification sites and calendars

Facebook groups dedicated to this work too

    Check out muncheye and warriorjv

Network with folks at the FB/Skype affiliate groups like:

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/wsolaunchandjvnetwork/

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/wsolaunchandjvnetwork/

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/jvkingdom/

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/272522146182371/

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/wsolaunchcode/

Buy products from quality product creators, strike up conversations, become part of their social network. Affiliates generally like to promote those whom they know.

    Hope that helps!

Find fairly successful blogs in your niche and offer a free copy of your product to them. If they like it, then they may be willing to sell it. Give them ideas on HOW they can sell it.

      Don't do this. Why?

You don't have any idea about their response rate. If it's 10%, You have to offer 100 free copies of your product to find 10 Affiliates.

The idea is good but requires lots of modifications exclusive for internet marketing.

Are you targeting college kids who want to make money? Or affiliates? Pretty big difference there, but once you know that... you can start narrowing down where they are.

College kids are in school... hanging flyers or finding someone to hang them for you (fiverr, odesk and those places)

Or Affiliates who are writing articles and making social media posts about your niche every day.

the ultimate way to get really good affiliates is number 1 having a high converting offer and number 2 the most effective way is becoming an advertiser and actually placing your offer in an affiliate network. That's the most effective way to get great affiliates

I've had minor success with our own affiliate network running on iDev but we're already looking to switch to JVZoo because it's a whole lot easier to find affiliates in that environment. Save yourself a headache and use a platform with a bunch of affiliates instead of attempting to recruit for your own network.

      Victor touched on my answer.

If you want university students, look at universities.

Hire people to post fliers or cards on student bulletin boards. Place ads in campus newspapers. Place appropriate ads (no bait and switch) on Craigslist editions for college towns. Create an internship and contact the business schools at the various universities.

I know that's a lot more work than slapping up a few listings on a freelance site, but there you are...

Don't just go for anyone as an affiliate, look for winners. Find people who have proven track records in affiliate sales and pursue them. If your product is worth promoting, you will get these people on your team. You can find good affiliates via affiliate forums. Most will be happy to show off screenshots of earnings if you ask.

Finding affiliates for your business has never been so easy but if you want then you can easily join a business community that is based on web 2.0 so that you can meet and share your business plan.
Apsense according to me is a great platform where you can do so.

Create a free blog in this reference telling viewers that you are seeking affiliates.
You can use social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Youtube as well.
