No Funnel Question: How To Proceed With $10 Ebook On Building WebSites

Hello,

I have a slight dilemma and am looking for guidance.

I wrote an e-book that contains links to tons of useful resources for building a WordPress website. There are 11 chapters with information on selecting a niche, growing an audience, making money, connecting with visitors, and more. It is just shy of 40 pages as a PDF.

I plan on launching in about one week on JVZoo. I think $10 is definitely a fair price point for buyers, and I am doing a 60/40 split with affiliates, where I take the 40%. I am in the process of getting affiliates. I considered $9.95 and $7 and $17, but I like $10. I am OK taking less than 50%.

Now that I am really diving in to internet marketing communities, it has become clear that making $6 per sale with no sales funnel is not the most appealing offer for internet marketers. A lot of opportunities are $10 books with 100% for affiliates, and then making money back in the funnel with $20+ or $30+ or even $100+ offers.

When I created this book, I wasn't thinking so much about the back end. Now I'm trying to figure out how I can make this offer more appealing to affiliates.

I'm open to any suggestions. I think the book is very good, but the offer isn't exactly lucrative or super appealing for people that I want to help me promote.

Thanks,

-Ben

I can tell you that I don't even bother with affiliates at this point in my game.

(I've even turned down a boatload of affiliates over the last year or so. Now I make all my programs private).

I just launch tiny products, and take out ads, and promote them to my list. I promote everything on my own.

Is that the best thing to do? Probably not. But I find the entire affiliate process to be quite stressful.

Reason being... I believe that the best way to get a ton of affiliates to promote for you is to have a really nice EPC and a proven quantity of sales. That can be a real hindrance to prove unless you already have a massive audience or a stable of affiliates chomping at the bit to promote for you.

It's my hypothesis, however, that if you increase your affiliate commission to 100%, and add maybe a $17 upsell or something you would garner more affiliate interest.

I wish you the very best, and good luck on your launch!

PS: You could always add a few affiliate links that your end users would find helpful inside of your member's area or thank you page. And I'm sure you can find SOMETHING to offer as a $17 upsell? Maybe a bundle of content or something? :]

    Stay cool

Yeah I never stress out about affiliates too much either

What I do know is that they will definitely want 100% on the front and maybe even 100% on a $17 backend

Think about the quality list of buyers that you will be building rather than the money you are giving away which when you think about it you would not have anyway

You could always offer up a video series as the backend or sell plr rights to your product

There are plenty of different options as what to sell on the backend

Just remember that if you are gonna go the affiliate route the only thing they care about is epcs

Raise the money they make per click and they promote way more for you

      Hope that helps slightly

I always approach the up sell up as a way of giving more value to my customers.
You should always take the opportunity to over deliver as it makes you memorable.

You could write a shorter version of your book and give it away to build a list and then promote the main book to the list.
You could do an interview with an expert and do a JV with them.
You could do an audio transcript.
You could make a video series outlining your course for those who like videos and use that as an up sell.
Personally I like making up sells that are not necessary for the customer to implement the program, however they add value to the front end product.
If you are really proficient in what you are selling you could offer them some coaching as an up sell too.
    Good luck with your launch.

Yea you won't get any affiliates banging on your door to promote your product. Your best bet is to promote it on your own.

I would split the 11 chapters into 11 small reports.

Each small report selling for $10 - $20 each.

Promote one of the chapter as your lead magnet and build your list.

You can then sell the other 10 chapters (now 10 reports) as your backend.

From there, you can decide which report you want to improve and expand and sell it at a higher price point in future.

Affiliate can come later. Now, I think you should focus on the fundamentals- How to get ppl to buy your small report.
