Customer Service and Customer Dis-Service

Happy and safe holiday to all.

In 24 hours I saw the two extremes of customer service.

The web hosting company I use (they don't do a good job impersonating one) decides to send me an email that there is an issue with my website. I call them up and they are closed Thursday (for the holiday) through Sunday.

Send an 2 emails no response.

Forward to a real corporation. Had a glitch with Norton 360 today. I go to the website and they ask you put in some info. They give me a priority number and mention they are open every minute of every day including holidays. I call and was connected to a live human in under 1 minute. They actually listened to the issue, told me they have a free upgrade available on the product (no catch or up-sell) and would have the issue fixed in a few minutes. In under 15 things were perfect!

    Well that's inconvenient...

    With the availability of cheap reseller packages it seems everyone and their brother have a "hosting company".

    A legit hosting company would not go that long without tech support or techies on stand by monitoring their server banks.

    I hope you move to a "real host" after this.
