Offer affiliate opportunities or not worth it?

So I have a 4 year old niche site. I get pretty good traffic that has been built organically, I have recently begun monetizing the site. I have added a niche specific directory, a sales page and a niche specific job board.
  • Directory listing $50/year
  • Sales page ad $30/30 day listing
  • Job ads $15/30 day listing

Here is my question, is this the type of product that affiliates marketers are interested in? If I offer 40-50% per sale, is this just too low for affiliates to get interested in?

I wish I had the time to market my products more, but I do work full time and keep my content fresh (2-3 articles each weekday). I'd love to bring some affiliates on board if it seems like a viable option.

If it seems too low and good affiliates will be too difficult to attract, I won't bother and will continue along with my organic approach.

Thanks in advance,

-CG

  • I am also working on setting up a crowdfunding section to the site that will be niche specific. Not quite sure I'll be able to set that up as an affiliate product.

Since I plan for the crowd funding section to cover crowd payments from 5-50K and only charging the fundee 4 and 6% (which could relate to $200-$2000 per successful campaign) do you think this would be something an affiliate would be interested in marketing for a 40-50% share?

Affiliate marketers are interested in pretty much any type of offer. So - a big yes!

I am not sure that all affiliates are interested in any kind of offer. Affiliate are interested in maximizing the return for there efforts. If you are in a hot market where there is a lot of sales potential then yes. If you are not then I think you will have trouble attracting them.

      Specifically...

This is a given. The point is, as long as an affiliate can turn what he considers a worthwhile profit, and as long as it falls within his ethical comfort zone, and as long as he knows how to promote it, and as long as he can indeed promote it, chances are . . . he will promote it.

But did I really have to state the obvious?

Yeah I would say that it all depends on your offers and how it's converting. It doesn't matter if you give away 100% if your conversion rate is 0%.

That's what affiliates care about. Hope that helps.
