What is the fastest way to proportionately resize photos to 110x80

Hey, was just wondering whats the easiest way to resize photos from the internet and make them look GOOD for POF ads. Whenever I resize them it looks so disproportionate, either stretched wide or stretched vertically. What's a good method to make it look normal and good for POF?

    I resize photographs here (it's free): Resize, Shrink, Crop, Sketch, Grayscale, Blur, and edit you digital photos, images or photos online

    (You have to give the height and width parameters you want, and just work them out pro rata. If they're in a different proportion to start with, you can begin by "trimming" the original to something that's in the 11/8 proportion you want, simply by setting the "crop box" parameters accordingly, and saving and then re-using the result. It's fairly self-explanatory, when you get there).

      Your images look disproportionate (stretched) because you're forcing the original image into a shape and size that is different proportionally than your original.

      I would crop the original into some multiple of 11X8. So if you use the variable number 100, you are going to crop the original to 11X100 by 8 X 100. . . or 1100 X 800. If the original is smaller, use a variable like 30. 11X30 by 8X30 . . . or 330 X 240.

      Then when you resize down to 110 X 80 the image will then look just like the cropped version.

    Photoshop makes it easy. If you need a free option, I hear good things about Gimp.

    You can try Photo editor online / free image editing direct in your browser - Pixlr.com

    Step 1. Choose "open image from computer"

    Step 2. Pick the image you want to resize

    Step 3. In the top menu go to image>image size

    Step 4. (make sure "constrain proportions" is checked and type in the width or height you want and click "ok"

    Step 5. Now go to the top menu and choose file>save

    Step 6. Choose your quality and save to your computer

    The whole process should take you about 15-20 seconds after you get it through it the first time.

        Ouch ... well spotted, Michael. I can hardly believe so many of us replied, here, without even asking this!!

        Tim, you are aware that it's not ok just to "take photos from the internet" and use them, if you don't own the copyright or have the copyright-owner's permission, aren't you? That's the way into court, losing your website hosting/registration, paying penalties and all sorts of other problems. (And re-sizing them doesn't change any of that!).

    I recommend photoshop. If you don't have that then GIMP is also good. Pixlr is also free and gets the job done.

    pixler is free also I just open a photo image in windows paint and enter the pixels in manually, works on some pics but quality not always great.

    Well, I'm really getting old. Couple times I've seen posts here referring
    to POF and I couldn't work out the meaning of that acronym, so I
    finally Googled it. Now I know why I didn't know. I'm perhaps too
    married or too old to know.

    Photoshop is good and fast. But you need to buy it. Remember you can use that tool for many other things as well.

    I use Microsoft Paint and Gimp (free). MS Paint allows you to fit the attributes of the photos to whatever you want, and i use Gimp to clean up the image and make it look pretty. There are definitely other tools, but this works the fastest for me.

    And oh... don't take pictures from the internet - unless you have the rights to use them on your site. Be on a search for royalty-free/non-copyrighted images, then work from there. Or simply buy the rights for an image(s).

    Personally I use paint that is already installed in all Windows machines. You just click on resize and it lets you resize by pixels.
