Just saw your post below. Can your plugin be used for selling software online? such as send activation key and also allow users to renew annual subscription and keep track of the subscription. The software is installed in end users' local computer, and every month will automatically verify the subscription status. Online purchase can be handled by a ecommerce plugin and pass the info to your plugin.

I got a working WordPress system with registration, license keys, automatic updates etc. Are there any interest in releasing it as a standalone package?
