Ok here's an experiment that I'm doing. I'm trying to make a blog on the niche of entertainment specifically hollywood news. It is a very competitive niche not to mention the heavyweights in entertainment blogs like perezhilton, tmz, etc. etc. They all get a huge chunk of traffic out of the millions of potential traffic because let's face it a lot of people are interested with the lives of famous people. Nevertheless, this is an experiment so I'll still continue on no matter what.

Remember my previous post where I helped a friend set up an entertainment blog? It went pretty well, so well that Google penalized it. One day we just couldn't find it on Google (using the query site:domainname.com). We found out that one of the WordPress plugins that she was using caused the ban. Entertainment blogs are fun to maintain because there are always so many topics to discuss and quite a lot are interested in it.

So I helped a friend set up her blog and she has no writing experience prior to this but I think she'll eventually get the hang of it.

My advice to her and to anyone who's planning to start a blog is to always update it. If you can update it everyday then the better, especially if you plan to monetize it in the future.
