    Hi Brittany,

    1. I've answered this one in the email.

    2. It takes time, just keep building backlinks and your sites will move up. There's is no limit - all of your sites can rank no1, no matter what the keyword is.

    3. I'm not really sure, but it usually is something like 1-3 weeks, sometimes within days even.

    4. This depends on the exact situation for each keyword. I have had sites go to no1 within a week, while other times it takes up to 3 months to achieve this. In any case, backlinks are the most important aspect here.

    A few quick questions:

    1. Should I ping my backlinks to get them noticed by Google faster?

    2. I have quite a few minisites stuck at the bottom of page 1 for keywords I'm targeting, and this is with hardly any backlinks initially. However, I've been building backlinks but they still aren't moving up in rank, do the sites need time to mature or is there a certain point that a site reaches and that's the best it will do?

    3. In your experience, how long does it take Google on average to start noticing backlinks from 3WayLinks?

    4. Most of my sites are less than 2 months old, do I need for my sites to mature first before I see them move up in rank or is it really a matter of the number and quality of the backlinks Google credits to the domain (which I know it takes some time for Google to credit the backlinks and sometimes you still never get all backlinks credited back to your domain)?

    Hey Josip!

I've made a website using an exact match domain and want to see what you think of it. I also have a few questions concerning its layout and content. I cannot PM you as I do not have the required number of posts, so could you PM me an email address with which I could contact you?

Thanks, and I really appreciate your help!

    Hi mprg4433,

    1. I check both, but the most important is the number of links going to that specific page.

    2. I am thrilled when I find keywords where Amazon, Target, Nextag and similar sites are in the top 10. It may take some link building to outrank them, but it will be worth it.

    It's my pleasure to help!

    Cheers,

    Josip

Once again I am grateful for any help you give me and will happily stop bothering you if you ask it of me. It's almost impossible to find people who are willing to help others while receiving nothing in return, especially in internet marketing where every bit of information seems to have a price.

If I end up making even the slightest bit of profit, you can rest assured you have yourself a sale and an advocate for your future WSO.

Thanks for the response to my admittedly convoluted and unfocused previous collection of questions.

I have two more quick ones if you don’t mind.

    1. When examining backlinks on Yahoo, do you check the amount going to the entire site or just to the specific URL that appears in the search results? This relates to my next question.

    2. What do you make of large retailers appearing in the results like Target and Amazon? Is it difficult to rank against them, even if the specific URL for the product has relatively few outside links leading to it?

    Hi mprg4433,

    I'll start off...

    1. The site had around 15 backlinks when I posted that in the thread. That is, in my opinion and experience, almost none.

    2. Content on the site doesn't have to be relevant to the topic to rank in Google. It should be relevant for the sake of the visitor - obviously, this isn't a very high quality site.

    3. Internal links are valid links, but the point is getting external backlinks from other sites.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
