Hi Andy,
Some people do a lot of marketing outside of Kindle to get their books ranking high. One of the ways to do is to use Blogs + Facebook pages to send traffic to your Amazon kindle book. I do not have too much experience on this because I do not have time to keep up monetizing the books.
You are right that the books do drop off in the ranking. Ever since the KDP select program came out where we can do the 5 day promotion - that is my secret source right now. I stagger the 5 day promotions - use it every 3 weeks. By doing this, the book gets better. If the book does well without promotion, then I just let it continue. But if it drops off, then I use that 1 day promotion and it gains back the momentum.
If one day Amazon takes out the KDP select program, then I really need to do some serious work on the marketing side outside of Amazon - blogs + facebook or even pinterest.

HI Rosa,
Me again. I dont want to bother you but I have a question that has been bugging me and I wanted to ask you for your thoughts.
I have just started writing Kindle books, I am working on my 4th now, and so I may be making around $100/month for all of them.
Here is my question:
When a book is first submitted it does quite well but then it begins to slip down the rankings. Does that mean that even if I have a popular book now that within a few months it will not be as successful anymore?
For example, my new fitness book got up to around rank 8,000 for a few days and now hovers around 20,000. How is it possible to keep a book in the low rank range?
Does it involve major promotion? Or is this really a passive income of sorts?
Sorry for all the questions. Once I get started I can't stop!!
Thank you so much for your honest WSOs, I think they are amazing and would love to hear about any new WSOs you are working on.
All the best,
-
Hi Rosa,
I have all your WSOs, or most of them anyway...and I just wanted to tell you how much they have helped me.
Do you have any new WSOs that you recently released?
Andy
