Keep your PS3 Clean - Keep your PS3 and all your electronics clean, especially around vent openings for the fans. Dust is an insulator, helps hold in heat, and eventually will clog the fans and fry your PS3. Get some cans of compressed air to blow off the dust off your PS3 and further avoid the Yellow Light of Death.

Here are 3 “Hot” suggestions to avoid the Yellow Light of Death on your PS3.

Clean Power - All electronics, especially your computers and PS3 are easily damaged by static electricity, and spikes and surges through your electricity supplier, no matter where you live. Seriously consider purchasing a surge protector that conditions your power and has a battery backup to power-down your PS3 safely if your power goes out. We highly prefer APC, they have an awesome connected equipment warranty included. If their product fails to protect your PS3 - they’ll pay for the replacement. Avoid the Yellow Light of Death on your PS3 get a surge protector.

    PS3 - What’s the Yellow Light Mean?

You’ve just completed another day, and your all set to spend some quality time with your PS3. You wake up your 60” LED TV and PS3 - find the controllers - pop in Medal of Honor - and head to the kitchen to gear up with brew, pop, za, chips, wings. You’re ready to go!

You return to your couch, grab your controller and realize, MOH hasn’t started, no menu - then you notice your PS3‘s power light is blinking red. You turn off the power, then on, silence. The PS3 power light cycles from green to yellow to green to flashing red, and the console feels hot, really hot. One more time, power off, power on - same Fr&**@# thing happens. What is this yellow light on my PS3 mean? Death for my PS3? What do I do?

You’ve got a serious internal problem with your PS3, according to Sony. If your PS3 is still under warranty, call the store where you bought it, and see if they will exchange it. You can find the receipt, and box, right?
