Hey guys, im just curious.. what is the driving factor that got you started with IM? Ive always found it difficult to put my research into practice until i finally got the kick up the ass i needed. My realization was that i spend the majority of my time online anyways and that i was wasting my time if i wasnt putting my effort towards making money. So now ive started taking the first steps towards realizing my dream of working from my couch. What got you started and what keeps you going every day? Zach |

I hated my boss, got laid off and my back was against the wall. That was 2 months ago and I have not stopped since. I am making a living, not rich (yet), but my bills are paid.

Seeing what people were capable of in terms of making money online excited me. That excitment alone drove me to want to do the same. I'm still in awe of people who have got there. And the absolute belief and certainty that I am going to get there too keeps me at it everyday!

Just the sheer blue-sky possibility... I hated my day job with a passion. As soon as I discovered the IM world I knew I could make a killer living there, so I quit my job, and just did it. Never looked back. Yes, I quit my job before I was making money online, but I was that sure I could do it, I just took a leap of faith. I'm happy to say it paid off ![]() Good times. Anyone else? I'd love to hear some other stories of IM paying off for people. -David Raybould |

I started out by promoting freebies(gadgets/consoles) where you refer people to complete offers and such, and when I was promoting the site I created for that I would constantly come across programs and people that were successful in IM. I decided I felt I had what it takes to throw my hat into the ring and I've never looked back.

All the stuff going on in the economy today started for me and the company I was working for back in 2002. Company being sold, layoffs, pay cuts etc. I did a Google search for the phrase "make money online" ended up here at the Warrior Forum and began looking into Internet marketing. It took me 4 years of working part time to become full time online. It was well worth the effort! |

Besides the idea that I just know there is money to be made SOMEDAY, all the success stories and people I see in the IM business on a daily basis tells me there has to be something to it. So here I am absorbing all I can and hoping someday to be like you all. |

If you love internet and would like nothing better than spending hours and hours on it then it is very logical to convert this hobby into a money making proposition. It gives you all the freedom ,sitting at your home turf and working at hours most suited to you.No boss constantly on your throats. There are lots of advantages of IM.

First, you need to be clear on what you really want. Then, you need to plan on how to go there. Like the old saying, "If you fail to plan, You plan to fail" Thus, you need to come up with a clear, concrete plan. Decide on what things you want to do (Affiliate marketing, PPC, Product Creation, etc), What is the outcome you want to achieve, and when you are going to achieve it. Then, compile the to-do list that you need to get there. After that, do a monthly planning, weekly, and daily planning. And finally, start doing it! You may need to force yourself to do what you have decided to do in the beginning, and as the momentum goes, everything will be easier. Hope it help. (: |

I guess the mere idea that my parents are having a hard time paying bills and even paying our tuition fees made me think that I should do something to help.. When I discovered how to earn through IM, I never hesitated to try out.. However, I also did some readings so that my efforts would not be of waste..

What got me started was an introduction I had with somebody in the industry. Their success story inspired me to learn about the industry. What keeps me going is realizing that every day I am setting myself up to have a more and more flexible future (ie, when I eventually have a family, I will be able to spend more time with them then I would with a 9-5) It really is a great career |

Having a year-from-hell last year! Sometimes I think it takes a hefty shove out of your comfort zone to make you think about what you're doing & what you could be doing! ... Why IM? I love the potential, I love that there's so many different ways to work, so much to learn & the possibility of being able to work from wherever I can lug my laptop too is a big one for me also.

I was 16 years old, there was another kid at my high school driving around in a brand new Camaro (we're talking 1999 by the way). I soon found out he operated and marketed a few websites on the Internet and was making a full time income in high school. It was shortly after that time I started my first website and carried on from there. Time flies when your having fun |

What made me start in IM is realizing that ANYONE can make it like the big guys if you put your mind to it. And i always keep in mind why do tomorrow what you can do today. The top money makers in any field will tell you that they make money by taking immediate action.

Realising that my current job will never allow me to do the things I want to do in life... All it does it pays the bills... I also realised that you will not get rich nor spend enough quality time with your family working for someone else. In IM, you work from home and the sky's the limit... That's the real deal |

what got me started in IM is that I wanted to reach a larger audience -- I realized that if I wanted to make a difference at a large scale, I couldn't go on doing 1-on-1 coachings for the rest of my life. made many mistakes along the way (biggest one is believing others when they tell you they have a list of X (reality is usually at around 1% of X;-)), but learned from every single one, so it's a constant up with a few bumps along the way... definitely not looking back Veit |

I feel if you can have a positive impact on a life then your own life is that much richer. I love the concept of creating something once and getting rewarded for it many times. I love books because they leave a legacy long after we are gone. It still boggles my mind that we can create a recording or type an interview with someone very successful and that can be turned into a product to be sold. At the same time someone else is watching a clock tick and commuting back and forth to a JOB they do not even like. |

I'm 23, and after 3 years of college and bar tending, I got VERY popular in the online "Sports Betting" Realm. One night I was working in the bar, and started talking to one of my customers. Turned out he was big into IM, and found out my popularity in that niche. We partnered up, and started up a service (Still running today) and from there I decided I want to REALLY dive into this. The amount of quick money that came so easily amazes me. I am currently studying and testing EVERY Aspect of IM in order to find my calling in this industry. I love it, and i'm excited to be in a place of like minded individuals.

I started as a hobby, and so far it is an expensive hobby. Hopefully I am getting close to the tunnel and maybe I will even see the light at the end. I do love working on the computer and I am learning tons of cool stuff. I really get into the tech stuff and figuring things out. It keeps my mind active. I am glad that I do have an income, hopefully soon I will have a supplemental income from my efforts. First believe |

Ditto!! Also having my daughters was the main catalyst to wanting to start my own business from home so I can eventually give up the night job and get to spend the days with my girls (around school)and nights with my husband and work when they're all at school and work! And I want to be able to give my family the best I can by way of things they "want" and deserve NOT JUST the things they "need". Sandra | |

The possibilities, the freedom, working for yourself! I'm still in the corporate world but I have set a goal of quiting and working for myself by end of 2010. No matter what. I'm announcing to the world. There you go. I've no excuse now. Great to be among you guys. I'm learning a lot from this forum! I'm not making any consistent income yet, but I'm working hard in applying what I learned here. |

I started making money online by selling used books on eBay and Amazon and earned a decent living at that but grew tired of having a physical inventory and having to store and lug books around. My first exposure to IM came back in 2001 or so when I read Mike Litman's Conversations With Millionaires book. I signed up for his list and enjoyed his emails and his "you don't have to get it right you just have to get it going" philosophy. That helped inspire me at the beginning. After selling books for three years I discovered freelance copywriting and also have a couple of niche sites. It sure beats selling books but I'm grateful for what I learned about selling online from that experience. |

I have been working for a company which is very much relying on our online sales, its a travel related company and over 1,5 year i kind off accidentally became responsible for their online sales.. After doing PPC and SEO for them for a year I decided that I could easily use the knowledge for myself and make some extra money every month. Since October I have been doing IM for myself and after loosing quite a bit of money by buying wrong services, listening to the wrong ppl etc I now make between $100-200 a month from it and this figure keeps on growing as I gain more and more knowledge. By the way, joining this forum and the War Room has been one of the best investments I have made in my IM career! |

For me it was the realization that to work for someone else is to put an automatic ceiling on your income, and I would never be able to afford to travel or have the flexibility in my job to do it. I am not there yet- but hopefully one day soon!! |

Watch ya I use to be a self employed carpenter. I enjoyed my job but l didn’t enjoy getting up at 5 am every morning and not getting back from work until 7 pm. The other big disadvantage's of being a self employed carpenter was that l always had to chase people who owed me money. Sometimes l had to wait over three months to get paid. In the end l just had enough. I really enjoy travelling. I have been quite lucky l have seen quite a number of places. The biggest advantage for me now is that l can do internet marketing anywhere in the world as long as l have got an internet connection. When l first started l make the mistake of buying all these get rich schemes from these so called gurus. So l stopped internet marketing for a while, but luckily l gave it another go and now I’m making a good living from it. Hope the future looks bright for ya. |

Perhaps the unexpected sales that I've made from my website could be the main factor that motivates me into Internet Marketing! At first I never believe in making good money on the internet within a short period of time. However, if you have a really GOOD SOLUTION to provide to what people are searching for then I believe just anyone can make loads of money from it. The key is having a GOOD and QUALITY product!...and be UNIQUE!! |

I was at Montreal making $800/month and a rent at $500...I was looking for a way to make passive income...I read a book about Millionnaire online and that was the beginning... I quit my job without make money online...It was in June 2008 - 2 years later i got a lot of stuff, book, method to make money online but i didn't take action...So since 2 years i'm a self worker who made no money online... It coud be bad but the good think it's that give me the power to do what i loved: Travel...it was more like travel lifestyle...but now it's time to consider it as a real business...I supose i was lazy...but glad to make this decision... |
