Hey Fellow Warrior,
Just thought i would share with you a few little tricks i use to get myself into a work mood and how i continue that working feeling. Some of you may already do these things but i just thought i would share.... Note: I do this after i have checked and replied to all emails/pm's etc and also checked out the warrior forum. Once i have done all that more 'fun' and relaxed stuff that i actually enjoy i go and get a drink... nothing fizzy and not tea or coffee. Just some water and squash/juice and drink about a pint or half a pint of it. Then i wack on a site called http://deezer.com (not affiliated) which is a free online radio station however it has no adverts at all and is constant music with no or minimal lag. Now with me being fully hydrated and my brain working fully i listen to the music at the same time as working... time seems to fly as im keeping my mind occupied and hydrated and even though each song is an average of 3 minutes long time soon fly's by. The advantage of using an online radio that doesn't have a timer orgiv e any indication on how long you have been working for (so you actually finish what you started) is that unlike a cd or the radio you don't get the 12 oclock news or traffic reports every 30 minutes or whatever, nor do you get boring adverts which distract you as the constant musical tunes are no longer constant and so nor is your constant mindset and concentration. Listen Up and Prosper! Now throughout the day everytime i get bored, or feel un-productive i go and drink 1/2 a pint to a full pint more (and okay if im tired i go and get a tea with lots of sugar for a sudden energy rush). This routine is not only proven to be good for your health but it does also cause your brain to work fuller and more. That's not even mentioning your concentration levels and your productivity. Ultimatly leading you to getting more done and earning more money! So hopefully this will help some of you who find it hard to concentrate and get work done as well as continue to work once you have done the first thing. Drink Up and Prosper! This next one is kinda wierd but human nature day's that we always want what someone else has got and that in most people provides a large driving force and path towards getting that! Taking that into consideration recently ive started watching more TV (haven't really watched TV for the last 2 years as i thought it was un-productive). However i have found by watching programs like 'MTV Cribs', 'The Apprentice', 'Monster Garage', 'Pimp My Ride' and other money orientated programs that show what money can get you and has got other people, infact makes me want to earn more money and get to work. It's actually become a bit extreme at the moment and i struggle to sleep and instead prefer to work and survive on 6 hours or less sleep a day. However i know that by working now i wont have to do as much next year... so i power work, i.e. work as much as i can but yet still enjoy life too. Watch TV and Prosper! Now the final thing i do is actually enjoy my life. I don't neccesarily spend alot of money but when i do i spend a hell of alot and really enjoy my online earnings (Normally $400+ a night just on going out and about) But on a day to day basis i spend time with my friends, my family, my dog and i do leave the house. I know there are alot of people here who stay inside and 'work' but then they get stuck in that routine. The whole joy of IM is that i choose when i work, for exampe all day ive spent watching TV, going out with friends and generally doing nothing. I spent 1 hour online when i woke up and checked up on everything and made some posts here and checked up on my sites rankings and progress as well as money earnt, but then aht was it. It's now 3:20am and i couldn't sleep so i decided to get up and sit at a desk (which is another important thing... i associate a sitting upright position at a table/desk on a more sturdy and hard chair as my working position). I have a load of things i need to do and know that i wont be going out tommorow untill late so can work all night/morning and sleep during the best part of the day. Enjoy and Prosper! Okay that's it! Hope this helped some of you and any donations i would gladly accept but instead go and buy yourselves a drink! IM isn't all about all work and no play, just use your time at your pc to the max so you can then do the other things you enjoy. Tom Brite P.S. I would love to hear what you do to keep yourself going and motivated and learn some new tricks that i can try out as im sure other warriors will do to! |

Is this some kind of cultural reference? Because if my husband said he was going to wack on a site, I'd be thinking...something I'm sure you didn't mean.

Very interesting ideas, thanks a lot for sharing!
I'm particularly intrigued by the idea about drinking more water whenever you feel unproductive or bored. That's one of my biggest challenges, and sometimes even thinking "I have to make change NOW, not wait for later, if I want change to ever happen" and similar things just doesn't help. I know dehydration can make me more apathetic, headachey and tired... and they do say you should have something like eight glasses of water a day... I think I'll try this out. ![]() As for listening up, I have trouble listening to radio when I don't know the playlist. I end up looking up songs, finding that I hate songs and turning the radio off, then getting distracted/bored/etc. I prefer switching to my instrumental playlist or a playlist I know very well and letting it play in the background to energize me further. Watching TV just bores the heck out of me, haha. I'm not quite sure what to do yet, but researching info about the countries I want to visit someday (when I'm making enough passive income) seems to work. Enjoying yourself is definitely important -- I'm going on vacation next week and I've promised myself that I'm not allowed to work at all during those two weeks! Again, thanks for sharing some interesting ideas here. |

Regarding the radio im like that too sometimes! I made a few playlists on deezer full of songs but eventually was telling myself what song was next and so it became too repetative (which is what i hate) and boring, so stopped working as well. Watching holiday programs wow i forgot about those... especially the ones for celebrity's who are looking at buying million $ houses abroad. They make me want to work harder too. Hope you enjoy your vacation and next time you go their again it willl be by private jet right?? Tom Brite | |

I'll report back in a few days with how successful I was.Eep, boring playlists are no good! I use iTunes, so I just shuffle the playlist after each time it repeats. If you use a software-based player, it will probably have the same ability. Ooh, holiday programs sound fun, but I still don't like watching TV. I always feel like I'm wasting time! Instead, I do research online at sites like Nomadic Matt and other travel blogs. I especially like Flickr's pictures for motivation! ![]() Thanks, I'll definitely enjoy the time off... and I'll keep that in mind, about the private jet! Nothing like a little motivation...
