Hey Guys/Girls, New to the forum's, and new to the whole IM thing. I'm in a position where im deciding to invest some of my time into IM to see if I can actually make any real money from this. Im a highly skeptical guy when it comes to these things, and really don't fall for the " I made £1,000,000 within 2 years" stories. But from reading on this forum over the last couple of days, it seems like a great place and with genuine effort and hard work people seem to really make a living. I am not an internet newbie, I have had very successful ebay accounts over the years, will I ever make a living from this though? Or should I not waste my time in this and go complete my master's at uni in September and complete my accounting qualifications? My strong points are: very hard working, especially when working for myself. motivated when I see the money coming in. Quick learner Decent I.T skills, not a techie or programmer though Weak points: can procrastinate a lot very very skeptical dont like to feel that im wasting my time if i wont get anything out of it Cheers people ! |

As for your accounting degree only you can decide if you really want accounting to be your career, I know if it were my choice I wouldn't want to spend 3/4 years waiting on my paychecks :-) The thing is though you need some stability too until you get up to par with everything, so maybe if you really want to pursue IM instead of accounting pick a lighter course that gives you more free time to work at IM. IM = many different aspects, look into all the different business models. A good place to start investigating the models is www.ezinearticles.com See if there is anything there you know you can replcicate with ease. Good Luck in your decisions. Best Wishes Intrepreneur.

I want a good keyword researcher, not for min sites but for tech articles. Hit me up if you've got those skillz!

You need hard work first in order to enjoy the fruits later. Many times IM fills like you are wasting time, but don't let your mind fool you. Go on, keep working, keep improving, stop procrastinating. ~Igor

Do BOTH - keep the day job to fund IM and once you really establish yourself ... walk away from your physical job, buy a MacBook, travel the world, and work online from wherever...Why would I recommend this? Because it's what I do - js |

I like Jon's idea. I realised recently that I do not want to do IM forever as I am not very passionate about it. I think I would like to be a martial arts instructor (need to get my black belt first). I don't think martial arts is something I could ever get bored of. Follow your passion. You may need IM though to do that. |

Dont burn all your bridges at once. Stick with your FT job for the time being but take on IM as a casual, even part-time hobby. If it works in your favour and you are making substantially more, regular income then you can determine whether moving into it full-time will be profitable and sustainable

Follow your heart, do what you love and have faith. Only you have the answer to that!
