Switchtasking
I just read an article about the real cost of multitasking, which is a bit of a misnomer so the author called it "switchtasking"- rapidly going back and forth on several tasks at once, and generally accomplishing none of them.
As I was reading this I stopped 3 times to take notes on 2 other projects I am working on, felt compelled like a crack addict to get another glass of water, and had to bring my mind back to what I was doing more times than I could count (though if I had thought to count I would have been doing that too). This is when I realized that I am a habitual switchtasker and it is sucking up my time - in a MAJOR way. My projects are eeking along with the spead of an injured slug and I just identified why. And I think this is a deeply ingrained subconscious habit that I need to actively consciously break. The more I pay attention to it the more I realize I do it constantly. I was convinced that some people get more hours in a day than I do and I want my time back, it is money after all.
Can anyone give me some great advice on Exact steps to rewire my mind?
