Hi Everyone, If you are a full time Internetwork Marketer like I am you are always looking to do more in the time that I have so that I can be as productive as possible. So I thought it would be cool to start a thread on tips that we can share with others about how we multi-task. For example, I try to listen to some kind of training every day to improve my skills. I have a hard time paying attention to the video or audio if I am posting to forums or something like that. So instead, I use this time to do some physical activity while I have the video on my screen. So basically I work out while watching the video. That way I get two things done, and also stay healthier. So what are some things that you have combined or do that help you get more done and be more productive? |

I'm gonna tell you something you probably don't wanna hear... STOP MULTITASKING This creates clarity in your head, and you'll be able to better focus on one thing at a time, which will drastically drop down the time you spend on it. You're fooling yourself that you're gonna win some time by doing seventeen things or only 2 at the same time. A clear head is key in improving your time. It also frees a lot of energy that you will be loosing because your mind/brain is running overtime to cope with the bunch of stacked tasks. Have fun Bart

I think Bart made a point here, although it is very tempting to do several tasks at the same time. Isnt'it our mind playing tricks on us, wanting distraction, especially while listening to an audio or watching tv ? We have become so hyperactive in our societies that just doing 1 thing at a time has become a goal but I will definitely give it a try. |

I think it depends. Some people multitask very well. It also depend on what you are doing. If you are submitting your site to directories or do something else that you dont have to think much when you do it, you can easily listen to some ebook or something. Working out seems like a great idea when you watch some learning movies and stuff like that. Your brain will still be clear while your body works. In the end it depends on what kind of person you are. I have some friend who cant even speak when they work with something. Im not like that and i multitask a lot more efficient. |

The only ever multi tasking I do is whilst watching video courses, or listening to audio I.... take notes! The best form of multi tasking in my eyes, you do not want to do too much at one time as your brain is processing too much information and this is where you will see that you have actually not achieved anything! In the time you had multitasked you would have been better just doing them seperatley for it to have been beneficial to you.. |

Multitasking was not working very well for me and I am too much of a control freak to outsource everything -- so I go "old school". Write a list on a yellow legal pad and start doing stuff and checking 'em off one by one. I actually get a lot more done this way. The only thing I may do while I am doing this is listen to music. It makes me write faster!

This is a great topic... let me add to the discussion... "The Will" is one of our six intellectual factors. It's not brute force or anything like that... It's our ability to focus on a single issue or task to the exclusion of everything else. This is a vital skill to learn.... Here's how you get into this... You focus on a single spot - may be a mark on a wall, or a light switch, in fact anything that is still - and 'concentrate' on it with your mind and your eyes for just one minute. You must not think about anything else - just focus on the spot. This is not easy... but you should in time be able to do this for several minutes without distraction. When you can do this, you will find you will be able to do whatever you want with clear 'focus' Okay, this may seems odd, but I tell you that if you master this, you will be hugely successful because you'll get through a ton of work! It's what I teach my business coaching clients; and it works. Try it... |

The only thing which truly matter is making to day a successful day. How can you do that? You can do this by creating a to do list. Setting prioritize from most important to least important. Once you have established this major factor, you must take on 1 task at a time. Anything else will diffuse your efforts and drain your energy. Don't fall into the traps of the mind, by saying im going to do this later. Allow yourself to Finish task 1 then and only then will you proceed to task 2 and so on. If you do not finish task 1 , don't skip to the next task unless necessary. Once something pops up , you add this to the end of your list. This keeps your mind from begin distracted and losing focus where your needed. |

Not everyone can handle multitasking because some people might feel pressured by it. However, if you do your tasks right and follow a schedule and do it correctly, you'd be surprised at how much you can finish in a day.

It would depend on how much attention was required on each task if you decide to split your focus

What has really helped me is to: Visualize, in advance, what I want to have happen during a segment of my day. For example, if I am going to be making a phone call to a vendor which has many customer support people.... (it might be my bank, for instance)... I would visualize having the ideal person answering the phone -they answer the phone right away (without me having to be on hold) - someone that can take care of my question immediately - someone that can do it efficiently, etc., etc. This is how athletes and other entertainers do what they do so successfully! Visualization really helps! It's like Think and Grow Rich (on a daily level)! ![]() Pat |

Some tips that has helped me get more done each day: Have a plan and work the plan. Have a To do list the day before. Do one thing - the most important thing - first thing before anything else until it is done. And move to the next on the list. Change my habitual routine at times to change the pace & renew my motivation levels. Multi task only on the basic stuff. Time out every now and then: eat a healthy snack + lots of water, stretch, read a few pages of a book, deep breathing, music or binaural beats for a bit or clean & organize my room/office. Believing that I have a lot of control in what happens daily and how I perceive how well the day turns out - no matter what. |

Multi tasking or One tasking without purpose, a plan and action means the same thing. Results that leads to my goal is what I'm always reminding myself to aim for each day. Which reminds me that I've overspent my time here it seems. LOL! Gotta go - I so love forums, but it can be addictive - especially here at WF. Godspeed to positive results to all in whatever you are doing now.
