Tony Robbins right now...he's got this infomercial on his product the Ultimate Edge and every time it comes on I get sucked into watching it - even though I've seen it a kabillion times. I went to the website and checked it out and I had to order it - couldn't resist that $14.95 free trial!

First person that comes to mind is Ed Dale. The 2008 Thirty Day Challenge was my introduction to internet marketing. For how someone should treat their list and customers, Jason Moffatt. He brings a "human" element that most IM teachers are missing.

From the wide variety of gurus mentioned in this thread it seems that there's no universal True Guru and anyway many of them are limited to IM - wouldn't you expect a guru to be something more than a techician?
I would say that many of those mentioned are akin to top althletes or sportsmen in that they are top achievers in a narrow field but in the case of IM gurus, they're also exceptional communicators and they are set on making money directly from their followers. Obviously, nothing wrong with making money but my opinion is that there are too many people with the mystical name 'guru' attached to them who should perhaps be called 'super salesmen' - sorry to be a tad cynical.

Truth is we have different Gurus at different times and for different needs. That said...

For online stuff, life generally and for cynicism, humour and sarcas... ummm... wry humour. I nominate the Zen Warrior himself...

Well, I'm not really big on the word "Guru", as it just reminds me of Goo=sticky stuff and roo=kanga and little roo(Winnie The Pooh)! aka sticky kangaroo!

Having said that: Who is my inspiration? My Father God

Who has taught me the most? A guy that many call a jerk

If you had like used the word Role Model I guess it would have been so much easier to give straight answers. But with a word like guru? lol!

Best thing would be to have one in every area one wishes to cover for now I only have one - Michael Dunlop. His blogging tips are easy and fantastic...

My guru is Mark Joyner. I went deep into internet marketing when I met him. I would not have start and make a good progress in this endeavor if he did not come into my life. You know the feeling when God puts the best people in your life and it's up to you what you will make out of it. That is what exactly happened to me.

My guru would be anyone that makes me think outside of my own comfort zone. I've been reading here for a very long time without posting. This thread caught my eye and made me stop to think about it. I could name many that have already been mentioned or I could just say simply that I am in a constant state of learning. Therefore my mentors are many.

In terms of IM, I've always found that Chris Rempel speaks a great deal of sense and has the results to back up his advice. For life in general, I'm a fan of Tony Robbins, although he can be a bit OTT sometimes. Going way back, Napoleon Hill's 'Think and Grow Rich' is a must-read.

You are your own GURU.. in essence all a guru is in reality is someone that knows more than the next person. What do we know.. everyone knows something about something and in essense knowing that you know something about something you can always know more which in reality makes you a GURU on many levels. The thought may sound rhetorical in nature but there's some merit and credence to what I am saying.
