Wow!! I just submitted my article today to articlebase and it is now ranked on the first page of google! This will definately help me keep up my momentum.

Thank you gurus so much for your inspiration and useful tips. Instead of waiting for ezines to approve my articles I found out about articlebase from this forum and all of my articles are now live(still waiting for ezine to approve my articles).

I am totally NEW to this forum. I am about to launch a global self help site to sync in with my New York published book. How do I go about getting my site to appear at the top of ratings on google etc etc?

Your probably should talk to someone who has SEO experience. You also should try to do a search on this forum for additional information. This was one of my first articles so I am in no way an expert but will be soon

Forget about ranking your site #1 on Google, start with BUM marketing to drive traffic!

While building a lot of links to rank your main site, you should research and get tons of low competition long tail keywords to write articles for traffic!

Use allintitle:yourkeyword, and find anyting below 200, write keyword optimized article and it will instantly rank!

or

Find allintitle with result below 1,000, and write keyword optimized articles + backlinks to it, rank in two weeks and get tons of traffic!

Imagine if you find 500 keywords with this criteria, and outsource it for SEO article writing, then submit them to article directories or web 2.0 sites...

Build backlinks to those articles and within 2 weeks, your site flooded with tons of visitors!

If your book is a runaway hit (I hope so),why not make it available as a download later? It could sell even more online than in hard copy shops.

You could make a webversion with upsells, videos and bonusses. (Personal consulting services?)

Self-help niches are usually good sellers.

In this case, your site should gradually build content. Original content will do wonders to get sites ranked.

Posting articles in ezinearticles as the original author, linking these articles to follow-up articles on your website will also get good rankings and free traffic.

Content, content, content.

Hi this article was about life insurance and employer coverage. I really like article base because the approval is so quick(can't believe I am still waiting for approval from ezines).

If you JUST opened an ACCT with Ezine Articles, as a new author, they are going to put you at the bottom of the barrel in terms of reviewing your work... read their policy

Has anyone else had the same experience with article base? I have a feeling it may have been really low comp keyword and dont want to "waste" time and effort.

Tommygunn, you are right in your assessment. Articlesbase showed up high on the SERPs due to a low comp keyword. In highly comp keywords, you usually won't find AB on page 1. Meanwhile, another tip about Ezinearticles.com:

There IS a way you can buy yourself faster response. And it's especially valuable for newbies because they take so long to review their articles.

And that is, of course, their premium membership, which you can join at ANY time, and it's great especially at the beginning -- until you get promoted to Platinum. After that, your articles usually get reviewed within a couple of days.

Premium articles get reviewed within hours, and sometimes, minutes. I've had quite a few reviewed within 15 minutes or so (though this doesn't always happen).

Also, you should know that the editors who review premium level articles tend to be off during weekends, so if you haven't gotten it approved by Friday evening (5 CST) you'll have to wait till Monday.

Is it worth it? Sometimes, and especially if you're promoting something, it can be. And I find it very valuable at the beginning, especially if you want to get a fast start.

And no, I don't get commission for recommending that. Just wanted to let you know about this resource.

P.P.S.: FYI: I used to recommend Amazines.com, but don't anymore, not at the moment anyway. They did something to their site structure that makes it very difficult for articles to get found (it seems). My numbers dropped from hundreds to the very low 1 digits practically overnight in April. So if you use it, at least pay attention. Its pagerank seems to have dropped to 2 as well, so it's not even that useful for pagerank purposes anymore.
