When your family thinks your paychecks are not real....

....Interesting situation.

I'm gaining momentum in bum marketing and other aspects of my business but my paychecks are not consistently huge... yet.

However, I live with my family who is VERY rude and disrespectful (GET A JOB GET A JOB) to the point of even depriving me of sleep at times, and doesn't believe that I'm making any money even when I show them my paychecks....

What do you do about this?

Sometimes it all just comes down to you and God ( if you believe in God). My suggestion is put your nose to the grindstone and eventualy these people will see your Success !!

The only way to prove yourself is to get ahead. When you start getting results people will automatically stop criticizing you. But the beginning phase is always the hardest and that's the time when you will have to persist the most as well.

When a rocket launches into outer space it's burns 90% of it's fuel during the launch. It doesn't require too much when it's already launched. Similarly you will require to burn most of your effort and energy early on.

I have experienced this kind of situation. It is really difficult to explain the kind of job that IM is giving. It is very virtual to them and if you are like facing your PC the whole day, it seems to them that you are just wasting your time instead of waking up and dressing up to go to the office. Just keep it cool and you don't need to show them your paychecks if they don't believe it's real. Just focus on your job and strive for success.

My parents are also the same way. Many (most) people have it pounded into their heads that the only way to an income is by working at a job. The concept of making money online goes over their head or goes into the scam category.

They just want to make sure your financially stable, become financially stable. They'll believe those paychecks are real when you tell them you're moving into your own place.

Well until the first checks started to come in, people around me used to think it was all a big scam.

However, they did become more accepting when they saw it was all read. However, they still sometimes kind of snare at me for not having a real job..

Well not that I really give it much thought. You shouldn't really be putting a lot of thinking on what other people think of you.

It's surprising how much more accepting people become when you are able to quit your day job and support yourself, including making your mortgage payments, building a brand new home and buying a new car, all by sitting around 'playing' on the computer.

Stick to your guns and people will come around once those checks start coming in.

I know what it's like to be completely outcasted by the only four people in the world who were supposed to care for me no matter what. One abandoned me, the other threw me to the wolves, and my two older siblings couldn't give a rat's ass.

It matters not though, because while they'll be spinning wheels day after day in their REAL jobs, not making ends meet, I'll have the last laugh.

If your family's not giving you an ounce of support, f*ck 'um. You keep doing your own thing. Reach the potential you know you have, and if your family still talks to you by then, they'll have nothing to say.

Keep with it and don't let it bother you. Its simple as that. Because when you do succeed they will then look up and respect you. Don't go as low as them or even try to defend yourself. because its pointless. Especially when your dealing with old fashion people they are work in the sun and work in the factory kind of people. They did so should everyone else.

My advise to you would be keep going, keep doing what you are doing. Believe in your dream no one unless they are very special will believe in it for you.

I have people around me who think what I am doing is totally crazy even though they do not say so I can hear it in their voice and see it in their actions but I stay focus. There are others around me who are waiting to see me succeed before they sign up or support anything that I am doing but that's fine too.

The bottom line is FOCUS...FOCUS...FOCUS. Believe totally in your dream take a tunnel vision approach you know a kind of laser beam approach so to speak.

I must say that your post was inspiring to me and help me see that I am not alone in this situation.

I fight this every day. No matter how much I make, my family tells me I should get off my lazy bum and get a job. Even though I make more than they do working 50-60 hours a week in a job they hate.

I totally know what you're going through. I had everybody criticize online marketing and told me things such as: "you need to know what you're doing to make money online." or: "not too sure if it's going to work for you," or "maybe you should focus on more constructive things." The list goes on and on.

Even though I make a decent amount of money online, I still get it from time to time. I'm sure once I'm bringing in $xx,xxx monthly all of that will change really quick.

People will criticize you. That's the bottom line. Avoid negativity and always believe in yourself, even when you don't...

If youre happy doing what you do, and the bills are getting paid, there should be no need to worry.

I on the other hand cant pay the bills, but I am lucky that my partner understands that this is all that I have got at the moment, and with the unemployment situation where I live being beyond a joke, earning enough to buy a bottle of milk a day is a damn good start.

That's a pretty tricky situation I must admit... How can they not believe you? Surely your family should trust you... Well the only thing I can suggest is, maybe you could show them one of your bank statements? Since you would have to put your cheques in the bank and it would only clear if they were real right?

If you believe strong enough in what you are doing, there is no need for criticizing. It will only hold you down, ussually when people get me down, I simply associate myself with successful people, hence this forum, youtube, tv. Look for inspiration and stick to it. Once you have success, they will envy you.

IF you think its a good long term plan then stick to it. Keep in mind your family is probably more practical and want something NOW. Chances are you put a LOT of time into your project for RELATIVELY little pay (most people start that way).

So, in your parent's eyes they may see it like this:
My child puts so much time and energy into this internet stuff (that I don't really understand). Yet, they only make a small amount of money. If they put this much time into a "real" job they would be making a secure wage plus overtime.

That's PROBABLY how an older parent sees their kids in internet marketing. So, understand where they come from and work from there.

It took my parents 10 years to respect my job as a animator in TV. My dad is old school blue collar. He kept telling me about factory jobs opening up. Not that I'm too good for that. I've worked in factories, warehouses and did manual labor all though high school and college. He just can't believe that I get paid to sit there and make pictures on a computer and he thinks it won't last. He didn't respect it until I bought my first car, and unlike my siblings I didn't ask for a cosigner or any money. The proof, as always, is in the pudding.

2-3 years ago my father dont allow me to sit in front of pc as they thought that sitting in front of pc is timewaste nd they always hide my moderm so tht i cannot run internet

Facing this situation, I think you should first have a good conversation with your parents, and express your ideas. If they still cannot understand you, you can just keep yourself. I am sure they will be proud of you when you have earned great success in the future.

I think people react like that because they afraid of what's unconventionnal. May be more with internet because it seems virtual and no real.

Except my girlfriend, mother and father, I didn't tell anyone that I began some internet marketing. When I will begin to have decent salary from it, I could tell them if they ask me.

If you think you're doing the right thing, keep going and don't try listen others even if it's your family.

Even if you can do some things for others sometime, you are living this life for yourself not for others.

forgive your family and enjoy the fruit of your labor.

There are 3 types of income:
M1= exchange time for money (service, professionals)
M2= invest money for money (401k, stocks, bonds, ...)
M3= multiple sources of income from give more in useful value than you are receiving in cash value.

99% of the wealth is with M3, and congratulation on making that happen.
guard your heart, believe in yourself, remember this "if it is upto be, it is upto me!"
you can only be wise for yourself.

Learn to exercise empathy instead of sympathy with your family.
I can understand their frustration and fears. They are stuck in the doom cycle. They can only live by their past, while you are creating your own destiny by designing your future income by creating value for people and solving their problems with your IM products.

Just use that negative energy to drive you to your goals. Those same family members and friends will be begging you to teach them your methods once your daily efforts really kick in.

Try to concentrate on products, programs and services that pay you re-curring monthly if you can so the more you keep at it the more you will be making with actually less work!

Those same family members and friends will be begging you to teach them your methods once your daily efforts really kick in. Try to concentrate on products, programs and services that pay you re-curring monthly if you can so the more you keep at it the more you will be making with actually less work! Hang in there.
