In most business they use PROMOTION in the position to reward a person and motivate him to do good in the company. Do you see it as an effective way to push the person to perform better in his job?

Hi Jack, I think that's is one of the method that most company will do. Some companies they do this for $200 increment with more responsible and time to contribute to the jobs. It is like one of the way to leverage works so that company can get more profits than appointing outside consultant for certain job. It depends to the person that got the promotion. Some just shooting to the moon just for pleasure, some because of recognition and etc. I used to see people take $10 increment because of status. That's the world works.. what do you think? |

This reminds me of a thread here from a few days ago: TED Talk on motivation and why our skills are future-proof Intrinsic motivators (those that come from inside, like the feelings of accomplishment) are so much more effective than outside motivators like a new position or more money. Definitely watch that TED Talk if you're interested in this subject. |
