![]() Apply these 10 steps to your web site to sky rocket your enquiries and maximise your sales: Step 1: Get into the mindset of your prospect. When they arrive on your home page, you should be addressing their concerns and answering their questions. Use benefit-led question headlines. Demonstrate you understand their concerns and challenges and recognise the issues they are facing. Change the content to focus more on their problems than your solutions. Step 2: Be persuasive with your message. Once you have gathered copy from your colleugues, breakdown the content as follows: Capture attention: Put the most compelling part of your message first. Hold Interest: Give your readers key information they need to know. Answer Questions: Think about questions your readers are asking and answer them! Overcome objection: Anticipate your readers objections by providing evidence in the form of testimonials and case studies. Promote action: Compel them to act by giving them a reason to contact you. Step 3: Make it personal. Speak directly to your prospects, dont make the mistake of using the commonly used third person. Eg. Our this, Our that, We are etc. Instead use sentences like You have a marketing need. You have a limited budget. How do you maximise your exposure? Step 4: Be their friend. Get over the personality of your company by using an authentic voice that connects and fits with your readers. Research which is appropriate. Your readers will notice and stay longer on your site. Step 5: Send them down the funnel. First of all, capture their attention, then progressively disclose more and more detail. Use sub headings and links to lead them through the copy. Catch them with multiple, shorter ideas, then lead them to detailed information as they require. Step 6: Ensure your headlines hold important information. Ask yourself, if your prospect is reading these, are they enough to give them a reason to take action? Step 7: Keep it short. Write so readers can scan. Keep sentences short. Aim to make paragraphs no longer than 50 words. Don't be fluffy with your phrases. Distil and edit until your copy is easy to understand. Step 8: Delete pointless sentences. Don't just paste in chunks of supplied copy. Strip out pointless phrases, superlatives and adverbs. Replace vagueness with specifics, and generalisations with examples. Step 9: Be consistent with your message. Don't feel obliged to use unnecessary synonyms because you are worried about repeating yourself. You risk confusing, irritating or putting readers off. Step 10: Read your copy back. Your copy should have a natural rhythm. If you trip over any words or sentences rewrite them or delete them completely. |

I guess it's a RT (retweet in Twitter terms) - a good read nevertheless. We can't all invent the wheel so why try? All those aspects make me realize that some of us definitely need coaching or step-by-step instructions. That's what sells too!

Hey,
I liked your post, here`s another 10 advices for commercial sites:- 1-Build a fast website! People are in a hurry, and nowhere is it more true than on the internet. It seems that no matter how quickly the technology improves, nothing is ever quite fast enough. In fact, studies show that the faster technology advances, the faster people expect things to be. 2-Target Your website's market. Know who your potential visitors (customers) are and be sure that your website caters to their needs. It is crucial that your website reflect the values of its potential visitors. 3-Focus your website. Make sure your website is focused on one goal: selling your products or services. A website offering several unrelated products isn't necessarily unfocused, but is usually will be. If your website does indeed offer many different types of products, dedicate a separate, unique page for each product. Never try to sell them all from one web page. 4-Your credibility is crucial. You can have the most attractive, professionally designed website on the internet, but it won't sell if your customers don't believe in you. The anonymity of the internet naturally breeds a certain level of mistrust. In order for your website to be a success, you must build confidence and trust in your customers. 5-Offer a rock-solid, ironclad, no questions asked money back guarantee on your website. A guarantee is really a credibility issue and it's important enough to warrant a page of its own. 6-Make it easy to order and pay. Offer your customers a variety of payment methods. If you don't already accept credit cards, start to do so right away. You can either set up your own merchant account or use one of the many credit card clearing houses. 7-Use a simple website navigation method. Make your site easy and intuitive to navigate. While it may look cool to make your index page all black and hide the navigation links, will that generate any business? Not very likely. If your customers can't navigate your site in order to find what they want to buy, they'll simply click away. Limit the available choices and direct your customer's attention to the sales process. 8-Make sure your website is consistent in look, feel, and design. Nothing is more disturbing to a website's visitors than feeling as if they have just clicked away to another website. Keep the navigation, colors, and themes consistent throughout the entire website. 9-Design your website for easy search engine indexing. 85% of all internet users find what they're looking for through the top search engines. 10-Content is king. Good website content sells. Ask yourself the following questions: Does your content deliver the message that you wish to get across to your visitors? Is your content compelling? Does it lead your visitors by the hand through the sales process? Wish that may help you. Regards
