Default The Quickest Road To Success

I've been doing some consulting with a few offline businesses recently and I wanted to share one thing that I have noticed that has had a major impact on their success and my own.

The business in question is a martial arts gym that I personally work out at. I have gotten to know the owner and we have developed a great friendship as a result.

One of the perks of the offline biz is that I get to set my own schedule and as a result you can catch me at the gym most days at 3:30 working out with the kids classes.

Yep a few 10-14 year old kids and me the old timer. It's a great self esteem boost not just because I've lost over 30 pounds as a result but punching a 12 year old in the face is highly therapeutic. Ok it was the chest - but still I smiled a lot.

Anyway, their business is good but it could be better. A lot better. So I spend my time and energy doing the research. I cold call like businesses, visit them in person, get copies of their sales materials, etc.

I make an action plan on how to increase business for them. I actually drive to the other businesses, take photos of everything and report back to the owner on some ideas and suggestions.

The results - a lot of thank you and handshakes - but little action on their part.

A couple of key things come to mind. I offer the owner to do a ride along as we do our "blackhat" covert spy operations. We setup a time to meet at the local coffee shop. I show up, he does as well only to tell me that he wants to meet an 1 1/2 later to do what we had agreed to do now.

The result - 1 1/2 hours later he shows up and so do I - but I've already done the intel and we can talk about it because while he was at home eating lunch I was getting work done.

Then we go to a business and fall in love with their sign. Owner comments that he would like a sign just like that and is going to look into getting one.

10 minutes later I meet him at the gym with a price, a phone number, and who he needs to contact to get it done. The result - a lot of handshakes but nothing done.

So here is the point of this post. The quickest road to success is the shortest distance between idea and action. You have a great idea - put it into action today.

Last week I wanted my site redone. This week it is. I didn't wait for the right time. I had an idea and turned it into action within 24 hours.

A friend of mine wanted to make some quick cash. I suggested he do a WSO - a day later he is $1000 richer because of it. Then he gets some mentoring and is now making 3-5k a month as a result. Idea - action - shorten the time between the two and increase your bank account.

Ideas are a dime a dozen. Action is few and far between. If you have an idea it means nothing and won't make you any money. But take that idea you have today and put it into action today and you could be making money by tomorrow.

You are absolutely right! we may spend most of our times into planing , thinking, dreaming or creating ideas, which are essential steps for idea visualization, but we sholdn`t spend on this steps much more needed and try to break out the barriers to our intended goals.

There`s Convert idea to action tool for for visual knowledge representation, you might be interesting on it

Convert idea to action

Regards.

Thanks for this, I am a huge procrastinator and I think that is why I am still struggling to get things done. This really inspired me to take the steps I've been putting off.

Until you put action behind your ideas they will never amount to anything even if you try and fail you learn and benefit for your next project and are one step closer to making your dream a reality. The key is to match your desire to succeed to your dreams and then go after as if your life depends on it. To your massive success Diana
