Thanks for your curiosity. I have a purpose in life like all of the world. I don't know how u will decide it. But i am strict to my purpose and I am very much confident. My purpose is to attain Heaven. I believe it should be the ultimate goal. Anyway I am eager to know about the purpose of all here.

I don't think anybody is going to have a straightforward answer to this question.

When I think of my purpose in life, I think about living my life to the fullest. I want to get to the point that I get up everyday happy and have something exciting to do. I want to visit all around the world. And at the same time, I want to make all my friends and family happy.

you know i kind feel better now that i know i am not the only one who thinks about the " purpose of life " but joke aside, my obsession with this question has been driving me crazy, in fact i have been diagnose for a "sever depression" and i take laxepro for it but of course the question never goes away. i have red most of the religion books from bible to qoran and anything in between and i have red other author who write in this field from carols castaneda, jon pole sartor to paulo cuelho and bertrand rustle, but i still cant find anything that can help me find a purpose. i respect others opinion when they say purpose is to grew and be good and do this and that..." but i am sorry, for me it doesn't cut it. i mean if that's the case, how can we explain the whole world and history from dinosaurs to the whole universe and everything in between. i don't know its killing me. and you know what kills me? i am not afraid of the death but you know how most religion and spiritualities say that we will know something when we die and go the next world, sometimes i think what if we die and its same old stuff? then what? wait for another world? you know what i mean?
i am sorry i am going on and on. i don't have any friend here, since i moved to us 6 years ago, so i am always looking for someone to talk to about important stuff like this. any way i hope i didn't give you guys a headache.

Finding the answer to this question has indeed been my life's work. While I've stumbled a few times, even to the brink of suicide, I knew that there had to be an answer to Why am I here, What's my purpose. I find, most interestingly and simply is that the purpose of life is to "Live". That by living in the question of "What" and not "Why" is the most profound idea to hit me. We can never know why something happens. There are millions of possible reasons why you are reading this text.

To expound upon this further, To Live and Live Abundandly is the key. It seems that every other creature on this planet gets that; but we, who are the intelligent beings, can't.

We often get very heavy on this whole idea of our 'calling' or 'purpose'. If you don't think you've found it, you get so afraid you're going to go through your whole life and not find your calling and miss the whole thing you were supposed to do.

I haven't found my ultimate purpose yet but after going through Jack Canfield's 'Effortless Success' course I learnt to hold the whole thing a lot lighter. I do what I feel drawn to doing in terms of fun, what I would like to do, my tiny preferences.

Would I like a vanilla or chocolate ice cream? Would I rather see this movie or that movie?

Then when we really get in touch with what we want, then the expansion or size of that want will grow and you'll become aware of what you want on a bigger level.

But when we do this heavy, I HAVE TO FIND MY CALLING thing, there's a fear you're not gong to make the right choice and then if you don't do the right one you're going going to like waste you're entire life.

So I just follow my joy a little more, I follow my bliss

That would mean that Hugh Hefter is more successful than Jesus Christ. (Hehe.) It's a great question. Personally I haven't got a clue what my purpose is. Well I've completed an exercise before which went something along the lines of "To inspire and enable people to overcome difficult challenges and lead more fulfilling lives." (Or something along those lines.) When thinking about THE purpose of life I often think about "Love." A friend of mine said "Experiences."

Good question. My purpose is to know myself and be myself always.

I used to think our purpose was extremely specific to one task or talent but as I have gotten older I think that striving toward specific tasks or talents though necessary, is only part of what we are here for and I believe that to be, experiencing, sharing, loving and spreading joy. On levels both big and small. We are always surprised when a small jesture has a domino effect. Like the ripples in a pond we effect everything around us even thought for the most part we have no idea that we are doing it. I think my purpose (and its not as easy as it sounds to do) is to make sure my ripples affect others in a postive way rather than a negative way because you never know who's life you will change or affect and the outcome of that one postivie or negative gesture.

Your purpose in life is composite. I’ll explain what I mean. Your purpose in life must fulfill the following criteria before you can really be sure it is. One your purpose in life must involve serving others. Two, your purpose in life must be bigger than you, if the purpose in life is what you can just do easily, then find out you might not have found your purpose. Your purpose should also involve others, what I mean is relationships. It must involve working with others. Lastly it must honour The Supreme one. how do we then find our purpose for life. Many people have said many things about how to find your purpose in life. The easiest of all is the one I found at Steve Pavlina’s blog, though this was not how I got to find my purpose but sure it works. Here is what to do: 1. Take out a blank sheet of paper or open up a word processor where you can type (I prefer the latter because it’s faster). 2. Write at the top, “What is my true purpose in life?” 3. Write an answer (any answer) that pops into your head. It doesn’t have to be a complete sentence. A short phrase is fine. 4. Repeat step 3 until you write the answer that makes you cry. This is your purpose. That’s it. It doesn’t matter if you’re a teacher or an doctor or a footballer. To some this exercise may make perfect sense. To others it will seem utterly stupid. Usually it takes 15-20 minutes to clear your head of all the clutter and the social conditioning about what you think your purpose in life is. The false answers will come from your mind and your memories. But when the true answer finally arrives, it will feel like it’s coming to you from a different source entirely. It will give you the answer you though it seem easy but I tell you it surely works. For those who are very entrenched in low-awareness living, it will take a lot longer to get all the false answers out, possibly more than an hour. But if you persist, after 100 or 200 or maybe even 500 answers, you’ll be struck by the answer that causes you to surge with emotion, the answer that breaks you. If you’ve never done this, it may very well sound silly to you. So let it seem silly, and do it anyway. As you go through this process, some of your answers will be very similar. . You can list whatever answer pops into your head as long as you just keep writing. You might find similar answers just keep writing. At some point during the process (typically after about 20-100 answers), you may want to quit and just can’t see it converging. You may feel the urge to get up and make an excuse to do something else. That’s normal. Push past this resistance, and just keep writing. The feeling of resistance will eventually pass. After you’ve gone through the process you’ll find your purpose when you feel energy flowing out of you as you write. You’ll find that it will also fulfill the criteria I listed above . Now that you’ve done this and probably gotten your purpose what next? You strive to fulfill it. I shall be talking about it in subsequent post. So be free to comment on about your findings or your objections. Wish you success.

Honestly, I know that there are many different religious views and beliefs/disbeliefs here on WF. And many people correlate those views and beliefs with their purpose in life.

Personally, I am a very analytical thinker by nature. I have a tough time accepting things that seem illogical or unsolvable. I was brought up in a Christian home, and have attended church my whole life. All along the way, my analytical nature has constantly battled with Christianity.

But, whenever my doubts spring up, I simply look at the world around me. Everything on this earth from computers to houses to birthday cakes had a creator and designer. All the judicial laws of the nations were created by the lawmakers. The point is that it is my belief that this universe follows that same format. It came into existence because there was an initial Creator, Designer, and Lawmaker.

If this universe was created by a big bang of solar explosions, and human life came about as the result of a string of coincidences and adaptations that happened over time, then I could also take my computer completely apart and put all of the hundreds of parts into a box and shake it up then reach in and pull out a fully functioning computer. The human body has over 700 muscles and over 200 bones that were created and designed to work together in harmony to give us the precious gift of life.

I believe that God certainly created and designed this universe, and he created each one of us with a specific purpose for our lives. General terms like to make others happy and to show love to others is great. But I feel that things are much deeper, more specific than any of us can really comprehend.

I believe that it is my purpose in life to realize the talents and abilities God has given me and to use them according to His will for my life.

It is my purpose in life to leave a unique footprint on this earth that makes such a positive impact that the tread will not be washed away by the absence of my physical being.

I believe that my purpose is take dominion in a marketplace, multiply like species and to not miss the mark of following the universal laws written from our creator.

In order to take dominion, I cannot be working for a company from 9-5 five days a week. I cannot be working a self employed job that requires for me to be a jack of all trades and master of none. This why I'm here on the Warrior forum because I'm looking to reach a global marketplace.

In order to have a sphere of influence, I cannot be bogged down working like the masses or doing what the masses of people do. I'm in a mindset of being just as the term "human being" stands.

If I'm a person that is always doing something, hence a phrase called "human doing" then I have not listened to the instructions very well because the last time I checked we were all coined the term "human being".

I think that we can have things done as long as we are in synch with who we are "be" and not focus on the "do". We can always outsource that (the doer part) to the 9-5er.
