Two things that make me happy?
1. writing. I love to write. I don't care what I'm writing as long as I'm at home where I'm happy and free. 2. my daughter My 4 year old daughter is the best thing that's ever happened to me. She's gorgeous, intelligent, funny, loving and she's my baby. ![]() Bianca |

Money is the one thing because with it you can virtually live a life of freedom. The best things of the earth are yours. Just remember to be smart enough to know how to not be a slave to it. SMILE

The only expert in the world that I know of that can delegate without a dime(ZERO MONEY), and, set on autopilot from day one(a start up business). I don't need to learn a new skill, or, any skill to dominate a market. Experts handle all my work while I goof off. (ATTENTION"The art of the goof off"is NOT FOR SALE, why would it be when I can implement myself)?

My family and friends make me happy. So does a good book. Or being able to make someone else happy. When I see someone else smile, a genuine smile, it makes me happy.

My animals, Sebastian ( a labrador), Cleo ( a Kelpi cross) and George P. Cat (a cat)
I love them to death. Smiling. I know that its sound silly but if you smile you will feel happy. Give it a try and prove me wrong.

1. Having a very productive day and being able to stop working at the end of the day, have a glass of wine and relax. (maybe I'm writing this since it's Friday??)
2. Just being happy being with someone close to you. When you don't need many things or money, it just makes you happy. |

There are many small things that can make me happy.
But if I had to choose two, they would be: 1) Playing with kids 2) Working on my projects as they allow me more time to spend on 1) |

Tristan,
Just 2? You make it a challenge, but I am up to it! Here goes! 1) Sun, sand, and surf: lying in the sunkissed sand on a comfy, fluffy, beach towel, just feeling the sun lightly dance along my body warming me from the outside in, putting a smile on my face as I have my eyes closed, ears opened, listening to the surf rolling to the shore in a rhythm that I have down pat in my memory, listening to the birds as they make their way around, some flying over head, others running back and forth with the same rhythm of the waves...oh, sorry, was almost there! LOL 2) My three grandchildren: Rochelle, my little princess!; Sophia, my little biker girl!; and little 3 month old Colton who adores his Nana, cooing at me, winking and smiling at me and noticing every time I have some new bling on, as his eyes immediately go there first! All of them helping me to remember viewing the world through a child's eyes, the wonder of it all, a sweet escape! Yep, my two of many favorites! ![]() MissTerraK |

Two things that make me happy are:-
1. My kids. When I see my kids happy, full of joy and laughing, no matter how much down I may be feeling, it lifts my spirits. 2. Good golf with friends on a beautiful day. |

Hmm this is a tough one because we are only allowed two:
1) I love being on the judo mat, finding the openings and throwing people . Its an ever evolving martial art and sometimes getting "served" brings the biggest smile on my face.2) Your gona laugh at this one but what the heck, let me show it too ya The best vid I could find on ddr, man I love that game :P |

1 - Reading. I love reading all sort of crap - palmistry, mystic, health, make money, investing etc.
2 - Swim. Floating in the middle of the pool doing nothing, its really relaxing.

I've been watching this thread for a few days. I just wanted to add something and I hope this helps and adds some food for thought. While I relate a lot to your post I wanted to offer this for consideration. Try to think of happiness as a choice and as something that can be excercised and developed like a muscle. I didn't always believe this but came to believe and find it true it as I worked at. Maybe you won't agree right a way, try not to discard it or toss it out but rather keep it in the back of your mind. Nothing makes us happy or unhappy that comes from just how choose to respond. In the end happiness is the ultimate prize.

I know I’m going to regret posting this… apologies up front, but I’m in a really dark place right now.
I’d like to say my grandkids… and it is true that I do smile when I see them and watch them. But frankly, having little kids around triggers my anxiety disorder, as do crowds and other forms of chaos. I’d like to say music, because I do like music, but very often, it only makes me cry. So I have stopped listening, pretty much. I’d like to say meditation, being at the beach, peaceful serenity. But frankly, all that quiet time just leaves the monkey-mind chattering. I can’t stop my brain. Love? No… Love is overrated. I’d say being taken out of this reality and placed squarely into the un-reality of a funny movie… but that really is all about escapism, which is not a true happiness (for me, anyway). Oh! I know what would REALLY make me happy: Being pain-free. Even if it’s only for 5 minutes, that’s 5 minutes of happiness, more than I have, these days. The only reason I'm not addicted to pain meds is because I refuse to take them (not that I could afford them, anyway). Money? Well, that’s only a means to an end. What would really make me happy is not having to worry about getting the bills paid and fixing things when they break (haven't had a heater since Spring and now Winter is approaching, with no visible means of replacing it anytime soon). And for once, I’d be ecstatic to actually be able to buy and give Christmas and birthday presents for those grandkids. And their parents. My apologies for posting such a downer... |
