Hi guys, I 've just lost my job and due to circumstances cannot get another one for 6 months. In this time I am going to try and build my IM buisness. My end game is to be able to work hard from home to my schedule. Without the stress's of managing upwards or downwards. So can I make it? First GOAL- I need to hit $100 profit a day on average We have calculated that if I can do this we can survive. this is what I am doing or plan to do and want to check if you guys think my goal is acheivable. 1. I have found 4 niches, all with 30k+ searchs and less than 50000 site, competition is weak with back links, and all words have over $2.00 CPC 2. I have built 3 sites with content on my first niche in the first 3 days. all sites have the keyword in the domain. 3. I have backlinked with high PR sites all these sites with 60 BkLINKS 4. I have further social booked marked them on a further 40 sites I'm now waiting for them to be listed. Next stage is to submit articles on the sites. Monteization is a combination of adsense using the blusense theme and affilate income using amazon. Once i have traffic, build site specifically for selling the items. lastedly contact suppliers highlighting advertising space on network and possible reviews of their product I then plan on repeating the above for the other 3 niches I have found. Then go back to the original niche to build more sites based on lower search strings 3-4k. IF these make $1 a day keep them if not sell them. With no other income source other than savings for the next 6 months. My motivation is mega high. I am Confident I understand the process and technology, and my old job has provided me with the skills to identify niches and build a buisness on them. SO CAN I MAKE IT??? thanks for your support, please provide negative feedback as well, I really do need to understand the pitfalls of what i am getting into. |

Hi Dan, your post caught my eye, as I'm in almost the same situation as you are. I feel I'm right on the edge of success, but not quite there yet. Your goal of $100.00 a day is certainly doable, and it looks like you have done your homework. I think the most important thing is to simply go ahead and put your plan in motion, then see what happens. It would be a shame for you to put in all the hard work that you have already done in preparation, then not launch it due to some unknown factor you are trying to think of, that may not even be an issue anyway! (I call it the IM info overload, and I'm a victim of it too!) I had to stop reading and planning, and start acting! I'm not an expert (yet), but I hope to be soon. I just know that I have been surprised by the results of some of my efforts, sometimes very surprised! I say just GO FOR IT!!! This is my very first post on this forum, and I hope it helps motivate you to earn a living on your own terms, just as I am attempting to do. Keep up the good work, and please post your results! Good Luck!

My advice would be to focus your attention on just one of those sites until it starts to generate money (or the $100/day that you desire) and then move on to the next one.

Yes, those are certainly achievable goals you just need to put everything youve got into making it happen. Making money online takes a lot of work to get started and eases up once you know what youre doing. So yes, put in the work and most importantly make sure every step you are taking, every click of the mouse, etc is done to get you one more step towards your goal. Youll do it man...now get to work! |

Yes you can make it. This is probably the perfect opportunity for you - you'll be really driven. If you're going to sell the sites that aren't quite making it then that will definitely help you keep the money coming in. If, for the first few months, you don't always meet your income goals, don't be discouraged. It will probably take a few months, but if you work hard and are determined I am sure you can make it. |

Seems that you have all your plan proper laid out so I don't think that's a problem. You also have set your target to achieve, full of motivation... I don't see anything lacking. Good luck. |

thanks all, this thread has really helped me, and the positive energy from it helps when i start to have doubts. Quick update. as Zombo put it research research research... I spent most of last week, finishing my research and have identified my total list of areas. I think there are some big and small winners in there. I've been using market samurai which has really helped remove the high competition areas. I think I have a good mix of year round interest and a balance between summer and winter specials. I now have sites up listed, booked marked and backlinked. I guess its a bit of a waiting game for position. In the meantime I am learning from small mistakes as I go. [Don't launch with loads of adword ads ;( ] I know some of you said to focus on 1 or 2 sites. My plan is to get 20 sites up and listed. Focus on the 2 that show the best profit. Build quality content sites for those two. Then focus on the next two sites that show promise. My theory being, If i'm forced to sell sites to make money, I should have 1 or 2 earning a small amount by that time. thanks again for all your support |

Hard work dedication and the will to move on even when your not getting to where you want to go means that you have no other choice BUT to be successful. I think that if you really just keep busting down the doors in your mind. Youll see that you can indeed be successful!

If you say, "Can I be successful?" then you are coming from the belief that you are either not too sure, or that you are not successful at all. Any negativity like this will deliver you more of it. It's better to say, and form the habit: "I am a successful person" When you do, your perspective on the world and the people in it will change and they will see you as a success. If you don't see yourself as successful, nobody else will either. Success starts from within... So how does it feel to be a great success? Nice, isn't it? |

The answer as we know is yes. How sometimes seems to be the real question. What I would like to suggest if I may is checking out Andy Fuehl's Wealth Without a Job. The program I believe is in book for or through Nightingale Conant. It has some good information for honing your focus. Andy started from a similar place. Best wishes.

Yes you can do it. Because I am doing alright with just building websites and doing my own SEO. If you are talking about investing money in backlinks and whatnot you are going to blow it through the roof. Good luck my friend. $100 a day is something I am working on right now. I hope you much success in your adventures. I have a full time job and am able to get about 10% of what you are trying to achieve I cannot imagine if I actually had time to put it in like you. Good luck my friend again and you can do it! |

Anyone can make it. Its networking and if you have the drive and the right company to work with you will make a lot more then 100 dollars a day. Its all in what you want and your drive to get it. I know it didn't take me long at all to get to 100 dollars a day. But i was on a mission and I was not going to fail so it is all in your mindset.

Hi Dan Jensen, I'm behind you all the way. It sounds like you're focused to get the tasks done for each site. I know that I've been side tracked several times when I take on too much. Just based on my experience it seems to work better when I focus on one project and get it running successfully and then move on to the next project. If I were to add any recommendations to you. I would focus on getting one site up and running. Good luck in your online ventures and I look to hear more about your success. GO fellow warrior... |

Yes, you can, if you work harder and smarter. It looks like you are on your way now. And when you start to make money, try using paid methods as they bring traffic must faster on average, and you can really start to bank money and double your income month upon month. Just do not waste all your money on one campaign that doesnt' work!

Absolutely- yes- you must go for it. I am in a similar situation, or at least the part wher I am now working for myself. I have created multiple blogs, and I concentrate on the article marketing method, as well as blogging. By writing qualioty, you are helping other peolle to improve, as well as promote your business ventures at the same time. I understamnd that it can be ahard in the beginning, but this business works on momentum as well. Essentially, put in a huge effort initially, wehich gets easier as you go, and once the wheels are tuyrning, and you build up a marjet base, you are away. Remember, try to build in a system of repeat customers, which I call clients,a s you want repeat business. Lokk after them, and build up a list, and a 'relationship ' with them. All the best Martin I recommend you look at my success tips in a few minutes a day, as they have massively helped me. I felet I had reached a wall as well, and knew I had to climb over it. Keep going, and pushharder. If you DESIRE it , you will have it, through ACTION Martin |

I don't see any reason why you can't be successful - you have a great plan of attack and you're extremely determined to work your plan every day Getting this part right is pretty hard for most people, so congratulations The only thing I would advise would be to add some more income streams to your sites on top of Adsense and Amazon. Perhaps some CPA offers and Clickbank products sprinkled around. The very best of luck - I think you'll definitely reach your goals.

Thank you all for your warm words. I draw energy from this thread each day. The biggest surprise I am finding at the moment is how much of my skills, training and mind tools from my previous career are helping. I used to create products for the food industry, all though some the technical aspects are different. The rest is almost exactly the same. This last 2 weeks I have been working on my first internet product, I must admit learning is steep at this point. I aim to have it issued as my first WSO this Thursday Friday. Thanks again for all the positivity. |

Well I've hit a wall, and need some advice team. I'm getting some money in from adsense, So i know its just a case of increasing traffic. But I can t seem to break the top 100 rank. I've been trying to build back links, to get the site up those rankings. But all my efforts with social bookmarking and directory booking marking haven't worked. Also services like angelas and pauls haven't worked. I'm doing ok with forum posting and that has been my biggest gain. I just don't believe all my efforts in the other areas didn't work, must have submitted over 300+ backlinks to get 2-3 to stick. So I will continue with the forums and posting content on the site. I have submitted my 10 articles to ezine and now I'm waiting on ezine to release me more posts. In the meantime I will try other article sites. Any advice is welcome. |

Thanks guys, I'm trying to take my learning step by step and if i see an opportunity I ensure i take action that will deliver a profit. For example I tried selling an WSO had one sale. But its done and I have learn't from it. I can now leave it and it might make the odd sale in the future. I just downloaded kevin rileys traffic generation system, skimmed it last night. But think i have something to learn on web2.0 traffic systems so thats my next barrier to break. Must admit doing 14 hour days and action most of the way. |

well thought I would post an update as its been a while. Firstly thanks t everyone who said I should focus on one site. It took a good 2 months of trying various things to work out what I wanted to focus on. To anyone reading this in a similar situation. Taking action has been one of my edicts from the start and even though i have come to some dead ends on most of the projects so far. EVERYTHING i have done has been useful learning experience. SO nearly 3 months on. I'm still not at my target of $100 a day. No where near infact. BUT I am starting to see my paypal grow in size rather than shrink. Which means the business is starting to support itself without further investment ![]() BUT i have found my ONE site that I plan to focus on. I have recently launched a membership site (last week) and have been running a keyword service here for the last month. I guess a lot of it had to do with finding a business model that I felt was worth doing. Plan now is to focus on this site. My FEB goal is to drive traffic. SO lots of learning on JV, Affiliates etc. And lots of using previous techniques for SEO. good luck to you all and happy 2010 |

Dan, Back in 1999 the company I worked for went out of business. I had a part time web biz going, and rather than looking for work or collecting unemployment I decided to see what I could do going at the web biz full time. I'm still 100% self-employed. If I can do it, I ain't no rock scientist, I believe you can do it too. Are you selling any of your own products from any of these sites? Are you building a mailing list? That's where the largest percentage of my money comes from. |

Dan, as everyone else has confirmed, Yes you are more than capable of hitting your target. The words that would spring to my mind if I were in a similar position are process, routine and health. The first 2 might sound boring to some but as I'm sure your finding out a process/system in place should identify things that you do well and things not so good, both very useful to know. The third word there is your health and I mean your physical and mental health by that. In your position it would be easy to think I'm going to get on that computer and hit it for the next 8 hours, no matter what! Lots of others will have opinions on just how long that we remain productive in a long burst of action (?) Now I don't know where you live, but that does'nt matter I get up in the morning and put my trainers and sport gear on and get outdoors for anything from 20 mins to 2 hours. I either walk, go on the rowing machine in my garage or cycle (don't worry about the weather!) The mental refreshment that these physical actions give you is great, if you are struggling with a bit of copy or whatever the chances are that the answer/solution will come back to you during this activity. This is particularly true of walking (no hands in pockets, good stride swing those arms, not quite marching!) have a drinks bottle of water and drink as you go, have a look at your surroundings that you miss in the car. In short, get yourself refreshed mentally to face the die, when you get back shower and have a breakfast. One other thing, introduce something new into your life, I started to read poetry and in particular Rudyard Kipling, only a poem a day. It's nice to put a smile on your face and he (and others of course) will do that! As Dennis and others said when something like this happened to them it felt like a kick in the teeth, now, I'm sure they would'nt have it any other way. Good luck! mbrig I |

Interesting thread. I like that you have now learned that choosing a single horse to ride is better than trying to ride several. It is a lesson that many never learn and, of course many people with something to sell will encourage you to lose your focus. When I started out in 2005 I needed money. I had no real income other than from my online business and I actually had to earn money from day one. There was no option to live off savings. What I did was to look for ways to service others and get paid for it. The common mantra in the 'internet marketing' world is to build passive streams of income. As an ideal it is great but as you have found it is an ideal and often not translated into solid revenue at the beginning. You have gone down the route of providing services, exchanging time for money (your keyword research income stream), even if indirectly, this is a good choice because you can get immediate returns for your efforts and this can be both heartening and pay the bills. ![]() Later your passive income streams will build and you may well find yourself shuttering the actions that require time for money. The only caveat I'd make in respect of your exchanges of time for money is that one should, as far as is possible, keep those active income streams in the same niche area as your passive income streams, this enables you to crossover your resources and time. For example, if your membership site is about making perfect pizzas then the keyword research thingy may be too far away from your ongoing biz to enable you to focus well on both and to keep an active mindset for both. Doing pizza making mentoring (is there such a thing?) at the same time as your pzza membership site is a good fit and enables a good crossover from one biz to the other which multiplies your income nicely. I think you will find your way, you have gone a few months now and not surrendered. I remember it took me about 10 months to get to my first $1000 week. My first $4000 month followed shortly after. It can be done, even though most will never get so far. I made a post a few minutes ago that might be relevant: I believe this is the main reason why most people fail at IM |

Hi Dennis, Thanks for that, Yes, thats what I meant about finding the right business model. My early projects only focused on one area. The one I am going to make work has it all. My own products/service, with plenty of expansion room. Building my list now, all though its small, and adswaps seem to be difficult at under 500. Quote:

Thanks Mbrig. Yeah thats my new year resolution, My ability to cram 8-14 hours straight on a PC is not good longterm. I totally agree with you with regards the exercise and we actually bought some gym gear this weekend. I'm always amazed at how productive I am when I excercise and how reluctant I am to do it ![]() thanks for your post |

Yes I am now 100% focused on one niche, so my membership site is a keyword related one. The aim being to Heavily focus on all aspects of Keywords for the year. At which point I will decide If there is more to do or to move into a similar IM sub niche and rinse repeat. Thanks Dan | |

The answer is "Yes" and you only need your permission to do so. I made a post that you might want to check to give yourself that extra energy, motivation and focus and you can find it here You can do it! |

Dan, Rather than ask "Can I be successful?", restate the phrase as "I can be successful!" Rather than ask "Can i make it?" Restate the phrase as "I can make it", then make this into an affirmation "I am making it! I am taking action every day to get me closer to my goal" Successful people control and direct their inner dialogue. You must do the same and do it frequently and consistently and success will be yours. Go for it! I hope this helps. —GaryB |

Gary, at least he's not asking how likely he is to fail ![]() And it depends on whether or not you believe you can or not....that's seriously the biggest variable. |

Yes, you can. This answer is the best for your thread. No one can tell you that you can't do something except yourself. So grow you confidence and desire for your achievement. This thread is a nice idea for that. Hope it will inspire you. |
