Frustration is one of the biggest mental obstacles that keep us from achieving our goals. It can come from literally anywhere and hold us in our tracks for many hours, even days. Some ways to handle frustration are to try to reject it or to try to control it. 1. How do you personally deal with frustration in the long run? 2. Is there a quick way to relieve or alleviate frustration on the spot? P.S. I know I stated "personal" in the title. A secret, personal way would be nice, but if it's too personal, a general method is okay too. |

1.Well, I don't know what "long run" means, because I don't know what would happen in future, so I can't say what I am doing now is right or helpful for future. All I can do is to know the reason for the frustration and re-schedule, so I could get strenth to go on. 2.Leave the spot and people who knews what happened, then have a great meal and sleep. If I was very angry, I would torn my old clothes, then told myself, I need to cheer up and work hard so I can get new clothes. Of course I won't let anyone see me crazy |

Short term frustration normally involves taking myself completely out of the situation I am in that is causing the frustration. Normally a good game of billiards or another activity that keeps your mind focused on something other than the frustration. Long run frustration is tougher for me. Dont really have a good mechanism to overcome. |

Secondly, I that's pretty crazy that you would tear your old clothes when you got angry in order to move on with the process of attaining your new goal. But people do have unique ways of dealing with frustration. Thanks for sharing this! | |

If I am frustrated I get my buggy out for a rip round the farm then go sit up on the cliffs and stare out to sea!! In general I have to walk away from the situation, take a break, have something to eat or even sleep on it. Ta Baz |

Personally I sometimes use The Sedona Method, it teaches you to instantly release any emotion in the moment it happens. I learned the basics of it, and it's very easy to use. I recommend checking it out.

I get out my I-pod, tune it to my favs, hook it up to the stereo system, crank it up high and dance the day/night away, as long as it takes to dance the frustration away or til I can't breathe anymore. If I find if it's hard to breathe and my lungs are burning, and my eyes are burning from sweat continuously dripping into them, frustration is gone! Or my favorite dancing songs brings a smile to my face, the smile spreads all through my whole being and again, end result...no frustration! MissTerraK |

I always try to channel the frustration into things that are of some benefit to me and are also constructive activities. Sounds crazy but I either clean or wash the car when I have issues that I am dealing with. Quote:
