At work we had a business consultant advise us the main reason staff leave a company is because they are not happy working for their manager or boss. There were a couple managers who did not agree with the consultant, and surprise surprise, their departments have the highest turnover of staff! |

That doesn't surprise me. I think my reason for leaving jobs in the past has mainly been for that reason. I hope I am not in the position to need a boss again! |

Also ... Be supportive of your staff, and get to know individuals well. Take advantage of each person’s strengths and encourage improvement on weaknesses, while accepting and embracing individual personal differences. Accept full responsibility for your own tasks and help do the extra work when needed. | |

somehow i am not surprised that one of the main reasons staff leave is because of their manager or boss. We spend at least 40 hours of our week at work. If you have to be around a terrible boss then that's a lot of time to be unhappy and stressed out. over time, that affects your health and your outside relationships because your unhappiness is brought home. |

I have left jobs over the boss far more often than other factors. If you boss sucks your job sucks.
