Default "It Shall Pass"...A Lesson From My Mentor!

(I'm going to be a bit naughty and post something my mentor said to me, because I thought you may appreciate it too...)

I was talking to my mentor about something or rather, and wasn't feeling to "hot", and then he brought this story to my attention again:

================================================== =====

A monk said to the master:
"I feel extremely depressed today, as if everything is awful! I feel so sad and down…Help me."

The master said:
"IT SHALL PASS"

Then, after a couple of days, the monk went back to the master and beamed:
I am so cheerful today! SOOO Happy! Thank you so much!”

To which the master replied:
"IT TOO SHALL PASS"

Moral:
Whether you feel good or bad, it's temporary, because feelings switch, and therefore:

It's not possible to feel good all the time AND….

It's also not possible to feel bad all the time.

================================================== =====

Guess what? I now feel better.

TRUE story.

Yeah, I´ve read that story (a little bit different version of it) many times and every time I´ve felt the present, the moment now...

It`s a great lesson, thanks for reminding.

Joking aside, this is really a great concept though it seems to be simple. Thanks for sharing it.

Every high has his lows.

Funny how the most simplest of concepts in life are the most complicated to understand.
