| Hi warriors, I'm Jimmy Winter and I'm new to WarriorForum. I am new to the world of online marketing, affiliates, so on and such forth. However i am not new the concept of it. A two day old baby as it were. For years i have seen alot of sites selling products, checked out those affiliate links and found it to be interesting. But since i did not have any knowledge of inner working of it all, i lacked confidence and trust in the system. The virgin feeling that it all might be a scam; just not accessible to you, before you have scratched the surface and seen what it really is. However, over the years i have seen so much online, being a big web and computer geek. I know and practised the concepts of SEO and other various skills which would benefit me in the world of online marketing to some success. I do not profess to be an expert in it by any means, but i believe i could do it much more successfully if i apply myself to it. I also have a lot of business acument as my parents own 2 companies which i have been an integral part of (since they have no clue on IT) since i was 11. This has also reinforced the side of me which does not want to work 9-5 for someone else, which i am sure alot of you can relate too I am an entrepeneur at heart and want to be my own boss. So, on Friday, i was doing some research for an Article which i was writing for University and inadvertently stumbled across clickbank. Initial reaction was that i thought it was yet another one of the scams or alien concepts which were not for me. However, i persisted with it, and found that it was "Real" and i could do it. So i set up an account, read all the FAQ's, read the money side, read other peoples stories and i was sold, i gained faith and trust in the system. Friday night was not a gaming night for me, which it usually is, instead i was hooked on reading and research about online marketing, this new exciting world to me. "At this point in the article your probably thinking that this sounds like one of those sites which sell the 'how to make money online books. Which some of you probably wrote!. But this is not what this is, i have just read so many of them in the last 48 hours" ![]() Saturday morning i woke up bright and early, feeling fresh and ready to started looking for products and coming up with business ideas. I created a company name for myself, i decided what i wanted to do, what i liked doing and how that could all integrate into this plan. I already own a couple of domain names and a good web hosting package, so i was half way there anyway. I played around, creating accounts all over, email addresses, setting up my new identity and further researched this world. About lunch time I picked a product, something i knew fairly well and thought i could market. I had an idea of the potential and set about a way to sell it. Refining my style as i pushed on to try to sell my product to anyone showing interest. At this point i should say i have decided I didn’t want to create a bot to just spam people/websites with my product on loop every 5 minutes. Great strategy and im sure it makes alot of money. But I wanted my new identity to look real and like there was a person on the other end, Moi Perhaps i will start this technique in the future in another way.Saturday night i took a break, i had dinner and watched Xfactor (i know..) I went back on the computer to continue with my new found exciting hobby, hopefully future business when i evolve to that point. Started hitting refresh on all my windows, checking what’s happening, and my clickbank page had changed. To my shock and excitement there was a figure in my daily earnings; I was thrilled. J My first sale! My second followed a couple of hours later. I had told myself to not expect money for days and that i would not let it get me down. I think a lot of people maybe don't immediately get this system to work and quit. Going on to slate it to all the others who wonder about this world, saying its dying, its overpopulated or just had no good returns. I did not want to be another one of those people. I am good with numbers, accounts and love to spreadsheet, I blame my accountant brother for this. So I did, for hours, making projections and business models, and even with really conservative numbers, which I am sure I could meet, and low conversion rates, <1% in most cases, I was turning tidy little income. Especially considering I work am a student 3 days a week and employed on an Ad-hoc, as and when needed or IT problems emerge. So with little, to no outgoings, Why not? I have nothing to lose and everything to gain!Sunday I was too busy, and unfortunately no earnings. But not to worry it’s now its Monday morning and I sent in the request to purchase my new domain name and I will begin to create a blog and write articles about whatever interests me. I like to talk about anything tech and entertainment, which is exactly what I will do I think. This includes interesting things I find on the web, such as cool YouTube videos and stories. I plan to also create landing pages for affiliate products and once I have this set up, over the coming weeks, I will try to discover more techniques in which I might make money and create a name for myself. I may even get into writing guides, articles, “how to’s” and more. I enjoyed writing this anyway so I hoped you maybe liked it too. Any pointers you want to give would of course be appreciated. Not asking for freebies, however, hehe. I am really just looking for friends in this world and likeminded people to associate with. Skype me, IM me, whatever ![]() Look forward to becoming an active member of this forum. Thanks for reading ![]() Jimmy. [Edit: Looking back at that, it is a bit lengthy.. hope its posted in the right place ] |

Hi Jimmy, great story. You know your purpose of being in business, and you have your strategy for business. That puts you way ahead of those who want to make a quick buck and are chasing the latest 'make millions with no work' strategy. I've just started out in IM for two months, been a part of the Warrior forum for three quarters of that time and it's got some real quality materials. Just finished my first book, have set up a blog that posts 4 times a week, building my traffic and my list. Just want to encourage you to keep sticking to the plan and keep working towards your goal day in and day out. You take care. |

Honestly Liane, I've just launched my site 2 days ago and I haven't seen any sales yet! A lot of the time people like me, i.e. product/content creation focused people tend to focus a lot on getting the product content right, getting the product quality right, getting all the bonuses and freebies ready before going out and looking for affiliates. If I were to do it over now, I'd publicise my product, my blog, and ESPECIALLY my affiliate site from the moment I have a product idea. It really takes time to generate traffic for the sites, get affiliates on board, source JV partners for the launch etc etc. Think about it this way, when a band or a performer puts on a show, they don't show up at the venue and then start looking for people to watch them. They advertise months in advance. (credit to Barefoot Executive for that analogy, from the BGP webinar couple weeks back). To put it simply, traffic first, get them onto your list, and then deliver your content. And Liane, when I get my first sale, you'll be one of the first to know |

Great! I will celebrate with you!! I think you a very right. I too wa/am product focussed. I find myself panicking about different aspects of each idea, worrying that it won't be thorough enough or polished enough etc. I really have to make that shift! Best of luck!
