Reading Harv Eker's Secrets to the millionaire mind was one of the best things I have done. I'm writing to see if I can succinctly explain the main premise of his book and to introduce you to his stuff. What's it about? It talks about the fact that people have a financial blueprint which is kind of like a program which decides exactly how much money we can earn. This so called blueprint is the combination of our upbringing, experiences and outside influences such as parents. It says that there is no way of being able to change your financial future unless you address this blueprint. (Ok I'm giving up and going back to read the book again, because I can't explain it in a few words!! I tried!!!) Anyway, I got a lot out of it, and maybe I will have another go at explaining the main idea behind the book another time. Any other takers??? Phil |

Hey Phil, that's a GREAT book to read I'm glad you got it. I'd say that the main idea of the book is that there are 17 key principles that seperate how "rich" people think and act from how "poor" people do. All of those principles go back to exactly what your talking about, your upbringing and experiences in life thus far. The book really also helps you to become aware of which principles you need to personally adopt and offers an opportunity to attend Peak Potential's famous Millionaire Mind Intensive to take what is learned from the book to a new level. I'd love to hear more of your insights about it Phil as you go |

I agree that where our 'financial blueprint' is concerned, we are usually held back to a degree by our upbringing and parents etc. However, I disagree to an extent that we are held back by it because it's relatively easy to change it just by going to a few seminars and realizing that most of the experts are no better than you or I! In the same way that you can easily become a good public speaker just by getting up there and being yourself, 'becoming rich' is more about how you think NOW and what you do NOW than any particular blueprint that you have subconsciously applied over the years. I DO agree that the Millionaire Mind is an excellent book, and the blueprint is a good way to describe the limited thinking that people put around their possibilities - but from my own experience, you CAN throw such a limited blueprint out of the window and get completely different results just by consistently focusing and acting on something that just pushes you a little bit further each time. Just my opinion, of course :-) To Our Success! Gary |

Innitially I do not have a millionaire mind. My parents are not millionaire. The people around me are not millionaire minded. Millionaires are not born, they are made. Since I joined IM, somehow my mind has changed. One of the program that I joined has opened up my mind. Now I know that everybody can be a millionaire. If you dream to be a millionaire you will be a millionaire one day. If you desire to be a millionaire you will be a millionaire one day.

The only book I've read on business success is Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad, Poor Dad. Basic and can be repetitive but solid advice nonethless. Will give this a try, am always on the lookout for good reads. Thanks!

Some of the people who have testimonials of how they really really changed their outlook and their whole life from his program are quite remarkable. It has made a resounding difference in my own life in the last 12 months. Phil |

Without action you won't see results. And without determination you might continue to fail. With goals, action, and determination (not giving up), one should achieve their dreams. Its correct, it starts with a dream and a desire.

Great Book. Harv is to the point, sarcastic, and well worth listening too. I would consider very similiar to Rich Dad, Poor Dad because it deals with mindset. |

| We Can Choose to Be Rich But why will anyone blame the rich if he has so developed his skills and talents to be able to meander himself through the minds of the so called poor? Anyone can choose to be rich. The ever wise book, the Bible says, “he becomes poor that deals with slackness…” A man “becomes” poor. In the same vein, a man can “become” rich. Even if one is born into poor circumstances, he can choose not to continue in it. Stories of how slaves grew to become kings abound in our global history. It is wisdom to stop blaming the rich for our economic woes. We can choose to belong to that class. How much do you sell yourself and what you have? In the first place, do you really recognize what you have? One of the laws governing our universe says, “To him that has, more will be given to him. But he that does not have, even the little he has shall be taken from him.” Adiari Captain, M.D. |
