When I first started trying to make money online, 4 years ago... I made only $18.50 my first 6 months online, which was a commission from a Clickbank product. I was ecstatic, but it wasn't enough money to pay the bills obviously. I didn't give up though. I read and read and learned as much as I could (mostly from this very forum) and then I TOOK ACTION and I actually applied the techniques that I learned and used them to make money. Now, 4 years later, I have been full time online at home and make a six figure income. (I am really not trying to brag, but I want to be inspirational to those that are starting out). My current income streams include: - Product creation (in multiple niches) - Coaching/Mentoring - Consulting Offline Businesses - SEO - Affiliate Marketing - CPA Marketing - Ghostwriting - Article Marketing - Sales Copywriting I learned extremely valuable things about each and every one of those streams right here on the Warrior Forum. You don't have to do as many things as I do -- especially if you don't want to be busy 24/7 -- however, even if you just do ONE of the above things, you can make yourself a nice living. There are many different methods out there to make money online and there is no "right or wrong" method. Some people start making money with eBay from the very beginning and never look back! Others might find their way with PPC and stick with that because it's profitable for them... There are methods that include direct linking, using squeeze pages to build opt-in lists, landing pages to sell products as an affiliate or CPA offer, review pages, social media marketing, press releases, article marketing, etc, etc, etc. Whatever works for YOU, is what you should stick with. However, you must take action and test, test, test. If one method doesn't work for you, don't give up... try another one or see how you can do it again, but BETTER. Once you find something that works for you, then you can see what you must do to scale it up from there in order to reach your financial goals. There are too many Warriors who have achieved success that there is no reason for newbies to get discouraged and give up... Keep at it and let us more advanced Warriors help you along the way! NEWBIES.... DON'T GIVE UP! Best, Shane |

Well, I think online marketing is a perfect test of one's character. It is obvious that there are people who are making money online. It's achievable, it's doable, it's real. If they can do it, so will I. No matter how many setbacks I'll encounter, it will just work, sooner or later. People with weaker minds tend to allow doubts and fears to control them and lure them back to their day jobs - which is too bad. As Winston Churchill once said: Never, never, never, never give up. |

Once you give up, it's over. You'll never find out just how close you really came in arriving at your goal, you'll never find out how much money you could have earned in the near future had you kept trying, you'll never enjoy the joy and excitement of seeing your passive income growing by leaps and bounds. This is like Ziglar's example of a gold miner who gave up just when he was about to strike it rich. Had that miner only kept trying..... |

If you keep your eyes on the price (your success) you are more likely to overcome difficulties, setbacks and such. They are just part of the journey, no more, no less, so they souldn't be the reason for you to give up. I totally agree on this point "people with weaker minds", so long as you don't allow doubts, fears to control you, the success will be yours if you can keep going. If the mind and the will are strong, you will achieve your goals, no matter what. In most cases, our worst enemy is our inner self, once you control it, and convince yourself that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to, the rest is a piece of cake. IM techniques or methods will help, but the most vital part of our success is our mindset. We heard so many success stories from people who had their fair share of setbacks and difficulties, that those stories alone should be more than enough to convince everyone that everything can indeed be possible. | |

To give up, in some cases, is a good decision... However, it is very difficult for beginners to estimate whether the time is right for withdrawal. They do not know what will be. The easiest way is to give up. But as Shane Natan said: test, test, test... whether it be on IM or painting. |

Thanks for the encouragement. My first six months have been spent discovering overhype, f..ing with IM software that doesn't work unless the moon is in the 7th house, and various other tragedies. Now, to find that rainbow. |

Hi Shane, Great advise for the newbies. Success has a very simple equation ; KNOWLEDGE + ACTION + POSITIVE ATTITUDE = SUCCESS. The reason that most people fail at any thing they attempt is exactly what you elude to "Don't give up!" The last part of that equation is the very essence of the failure. Giving up . . and staying focused on the door that is closing, instead of looking at the door that is open. Our mindset certainly plays a dramatic role in the outcome. Once we have our head screwed on correctly, we realize that we control the outcome and do something about it . . .Wow! Look at the results. Go out and make it a great day! Lloyd Dobson |

As the original poster states - never give up, and remember there are DOZENS of ways of making money online. My first success was in writing software. Wow, I made almost $100,000 from that idea. I am now moving heavily into article writing. I have a decent formula going on Hubpages (see my .sig). My friend made a lot of money from eBay. I'm looking at Kindle next. |

With so much available, it is sometimes difficult to figure out what to do next. From what I can see, it is just to keep on going. And never stop but be consistent. Thanks for the encouragement and the results. More to do today and some more tomorrow.

Don't give up is not enough. I noticed a lot of people.. who keep on pressing.. but still fail regardless. The reason why not giving up works is, when you keep on doing it... you will somehow start to see the connection, the big pictures and the right place to put in your pieces of puzzles. One of the main thing is... never ever jump from one system to another. If you keep on jumping from here to there (for example, this week with Google Sniper and then with Auto Blogging) you won't see any success. Give the system time to work. At least 4 months... do not give up on yourself... and on the system you are using. Ryan |

That's an extremely good point. Staying focused, persistent and consistent is of paramount importance as well. Also, I would like to add that thinking "long term" is also a much better mindset to have rather than just focusing on the "short term" (i.e making fast cash today). Thanks a lot for your input! Very inspiring TYVM. Internet marketing reminds me of playing the guitar. Extremely hard in the begining because you ain't go not callouses (experience/resources) on your fingertips but once you do, everything starts to roll smoothly (HOPEFULLY). |

| Hi Shane, Thanks for sharing your success with us, it is great motivation. Good for you by sticking to you game plan and not backing out. So many of us including myself are indulged with so much info as to how to start, what to do, how to do etc, it gets confusing. I have read ebooks watched videos, have read many helpful thread in this WF, but still not able to jump in the pool. I know that I can succeed but because I do not know all the things I want to know I am hesitate to act. I have a couple of web sites that I want generate income, from but not sure how to act on it.. For example I want to use Wordress, watched videos and read ebooks but not that good at it, there is so much info. I started one a couple of months ago, but its stuck in neutral. Sometimes we need that little extra push or guidance to get us going. Fear is a tough mountain to climb. Sorry for blabbing on and on. Once again good for you Shane. Hobo82 |

Hi all, I just joined the forum. I wish I'd discovered it a couple of years ago! I've been trying to get something going online for a while now. I've got a couple of sites, that are kind of niche I suppose, and making a little ( and I mean little) money through adsense and amazon but still havn't found the magic formula yet.. I have a business in the 'real' world which is doing quite well but I want something online that generates cash while I sleep! It's great to read about other peoples success and I most definitley agree that you should never give up, and that applies to any business online or not, whatever it is your doing, just keep going, and one day it'll all come good.. All the best, G |

Great things are said here.... I'm still a Newb even tho I started messing with IM like 3 years ago. Reasons that I didn't succeed in IM are few. 1. First and the most important one is lack of focus. I actually started, learned, tried probably few dozen things/platforms that connects to IM. From betting, affiliate, creating products, selling who know what, to adult content selling (I got my first sale there, had some success with it, but it become to shabby...my mindset wasn for it, i didn't want to actually do it...) Anyway, tried blogging, PPC, SEO, but nothing really for real because I always wanted fast results....and when they failed to provide, i moved to next thing....and that's my curse...even now... 2. I had, and still have a great job...good pay, good surroundings, great...So it wasn't that I needed to make my living online that's why I didn't tred anything seriously.... The irony is that work that I'm working on is based on IM. And I work for a guy who actually made it online, big time....he started because he lost his job, and little by little started building his products...and then when he got a bit bigger hired me as designer and we grow together...now I can say that I'm no2 guy in that small company that that hires like 5 full time people and few part time...and we do only Online Sales in one niche... People ask me sometimes why I don't do something similar...and I say, "I will....." yea, I'm lazy...Taking action is so important... I don't know who said it, it was something like....if you want to go from NY to Chicago, by car, and you never drove that road...don't worry, you dont have to know entire road...just go, watch the signs, you dont have to see farther that your headlights shine...just go one crossroad at the time... And that's so true... I started to look more serious in IM and I have ideas and I WANT to go with it, and I have started...and I will keep on going....I'm not afraid of failure, and success will come sooner or later... Ah...I wrote a lot of stuff here...I wish everybody good luck and I'm looking forward to share some success stories with you soon ![]() (PS, we just had talk at the my real work company that we will start to get in affiliates with pay per lead thing, so if somebody will be interested in that, shoot me PM...) PSS..I'm glad i joined WF, i found a lot of good info.. |

Here's my question. What do you do when you are in between part and full time income but can't seem to move into the full time arena? I'm making good money online for a newbie, but I still need to get myself over the edge and make at least 500-1000 per week so that I can quit this worthless day job and go all in on internet marketing. Is there something that full time IMers have done that part time IMers haven't? Some secret sauce perhaps? |

I tell people all the time how hard I've worked, how much money I've invested in my business, how much I've sacrificed to make it work... people who aren't in the industry and haven't experienced the sacrifices we have to make just don't understand. I think people who first get started in IM are still operating under the mindset that it's easy/easier than opening a "bricks and mortar" business just b/c the business is little more than just working on the computer... and who can't find something to occupy a few hours per day on the computer? But then - when reality sets in - and the search engines start their punishing litany of trials to test the new IM's mettle, many newbies start to waiver in their conviction... You have to know what you want, figure out how to focus intensely, and then be willing to pursue that dream to the very end. Enjoy the ride! |

Hey. I just started with IM maybe 3 weeks ago. I wanted to start 1 year ago but I didn't take ACTION ... this was a big mistake because now I see that IM is really a thing that is amazing. I started wit my first page in a 9k viwes/month niche. I wrote the content build the site and so on. Then I decided to take action. I bought the webspace and the domain and my page was online. This was the first amazing feeling to IM. I did some bookmarking work and wrote 2 articles, submitted them to 4 big directories and sit down. Yea I think I was a bit lucky cause my page was approved on adsense a half day after going online and 24h after launch my page was indexed at google site 3. My friend told me that it is great but I still wanted more. I worked hard writing articles searching for new possibilities to get backlinks and finally I got my first 3 clicks. Again amazing. This was so ... ^^ I think everybody knows what I am talking about. Now 3 weeks after launch my page hit rank 10 on google. One of my articles is right behind my page on rank 11. But no clicks at all. I knwo that's quite good but the last 2 days I felt like come on give up and try something different because I don't know what to do to get the people to click ^^. (yea this sound ridiculous) but now I read your posts and I am back. You guys hit your aim and I will be the next one. So I shouldn't repeat it again because you said it so often ... but I will: Take ACTION! Thanks and I hope I will give back some useful infos anytime to this great forum. |

Really, Really inspirational post Shane. I've tried so many how to make money at home products, and how to make money online products, I'm too embarrassed to say. And each time I gave up when the going got hard, I complained when I didn't have enough financial resources to push a deal through. My friends and family scoffed at me and told me I was insane, stupid, crazy, and just plain easy to be fooled for wasting thousands and thousands of dollars over time on these scams. I was even told that maybe I just have an addition to this stuff and should seek help. I tried and tried, but could never get anything to work. So I would just give up. I would stop and huddle back into my safe sucky job. Then, a few months later I'd either see a late night infomercial, or I would read the various emails, and testimonials about people making money... And I would jump back into the fray of making money online once more. I jump from this system, and jumped to that system, and still couldn't make any money. Then, I forgot where it came from; ebook, book, audiobook, or webinar. I learned something that I never heard before. "If you always try something, you are already setting the ground work for failure". So the very next opportunity that I ran into was to be an affiliate for a product launch. And the payout was about $69.50 per customer who bought there Multi-Guru Extravaganza. I did my usual thing and told myself, "I think I'll try that." and I started working on getting some sales. And three days before the launch was going to close I still had not converted one single visitor to my site. I told myself, "Yeah, I knew this wasn't going to work." And then, I don't know why, but I remembered that little tidbit, about just trying something came to mind. So I said, "No, I'm not giving up. I have just being trying to do this thing. Now, I'm going to DO this thing!" And that's when everything changed. I took down the site. I asked myself what did I want to do. I research why I thought that there were no conversions. I came to the simple conclusion that there wasn't anything in it for the end customers. It was all for me. With that focus in mind I wrote a long page salesletter (It was all the rage back in the day) I made it customer focused. I lined up some bonuses that would complement the products & services. And then with only one day left, I made the site live and drove some quick traffic via paid email ezines. After the launch was over, I went in and check my stats...no sales, no conversions, nothing. Well I felt kind of low and optimistic and the same time because this time I didn't give up. A couple weeks went by and I was on to something else when I received a weird email. I kind of didn't recognize the (From). The email said, "We apologize to all of the affiliates that couldn't get their payout & sales information. Due to the size and high response of the launch, one of our servers crashed. So we are sending out customer sale data, so you can see how many people converted through your affiliate link". I said, "What?" And then my heart started to beat real fast, and my hands actually started to sweat, (they're sweating even now while I'm reliving this story) I thought to myself, "Oh My God.." Then I looked below. And there under customer conversion was only one number; The number nine. It wasn't 50 or 100 or 250 it was just the (#9). Somewhere along the way in the last few hours before the launched closed. Among all the visitors that made it to my site. Nine of them read the long page salesletter. Nine of them went to the bottom and looked at the bonuses, (which weren't that exciting to tell you the truth.) Nine people said, "hmm, this sounds pretty good. Let's check it out". And nine people actually purchased the very high priced products and services. I had converted 9 people at $69.50 making my commission, $625.50. Just because I didn't give up, and decided not to try something. I decided to DO something. It was the very first time in all the years of trying, that something actually worked. I had made my first money online. I don't want to get mushy, but, let's just say, I became a little emotional. Thanks for the inspiration... |

I'm a newbie. I understand that starting out IM isn't easy. I also understand that it takes time to take off. My current plan is to stick to it for at least three months. There will be lots of testing in this three months to give it a proper chance to take off, I know I will be frustrated until I see any sorts of results but it's also a process of building my mindset right. I'm doing what I'm doing because I'm passionate about it, not for money. Following my passion is my long term project. It helps me motivated although I admit that there are days I don't feel like doing anything. As many members mentioned here, I need to focus, be patient, persistent and consistent to success. I'm not very good at focusing for a long time so I'm applying 80/20 rule on that. It took me a long time until I actually took action and start IM. If you are having 'not taking action' problem, I'd like to give you a question that I used to (and still) ask myself, 'if you don't do it now, when would you?' - when my answer to this question is 'probably never', I push myself to take action, even a small one. Some says IM has already been saturated. I disagree. I think they just cannot think outside the box, there are many opportunities out there!! It is very important for me to keep inspired to continue my project - this forum seems a right place to do so, because there are many members who response to other members with the same level of passion. I believe that once you acquire a good place to stand, your following projects get easier and easier. I'm ready to get out of my comfort zone and keep reaching out for my highest good. Is anybody with me? |

It's eye-opening and life-changing when "taking action" becomes your nature, doing instead of trying, when your "addiction" is healthy. Money is a measure of success, but it is only one--and not the ultimate--thermometer. |

I have always been fascinated by people who persevere even when hard work yields nothing if not very little at first. And I'm truly amazed at those who when in the brink of quitting suddenly make their first sale. You will all always serve as an inspiration to everyone out there trying make a living or their first sale. Thanks for sharing your online experience.

Been at this for a little over 4 months, quit 2 weeks in, but getting yelled at during work inspired me to get back into it. I spent the first 3 months not knowing what I was doing and just recently, I've started seeing my stuff rank on google, but no sales yet. I just experienced a "google dance" today which brought my article down from #1 on google to page 3. I'm pretty confident that Sept will be the month I make my first dollar. I'm never giving up! |
