I really enjoyed "Goal! The Dream Begins" and the sequel, "Goal! 2: Living the Dream". A story of a a boy, from humble beginnings, and his unique journey to achieving his ultimate dream-to play soccer professionally. The movies were made with full cooperation from FIFA, so makes for a great film, with actual teams and players throughout the movies. |

I especially like Pursuit of Happyness. It really goes to show that sometimes you have to sink to incredible lows in order to realize what it is that you really want, but as long as you have a strong vision of your destiny, you'll definitely get where you want to go!

Every time I watch "Kung Fu Panda", I get motivated. I like these quotes: "Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. But today is a gift, and that is why it's called the present" "The Secret Ingredient of the Secret Ingredient soup is nothing. All you have to do is to believe it." |

Another great recent movie that I've found incredibly motivational is 'The Blind Side', especially since this is a true story and not some outlandish figment of a director's imagination. Definitely in my list of all-time greats, just like 'The Pursuit of Happyness'. Paul |

My first choice was Shawshank Redemption based on it's message of never giving up hope but I see it's already been mentioned. Therefore, I'll have to add another movie that touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes based on the message of keeping hope alive and that's "Hurricane" starring Denzel Washington as the wrongfully imprisoned boxer Rubin "Hurricane" Carter. Here's the trailer for anyone who's never seen this show but who's a fan of motivational movie... YouTube - The Hurricane Trailer |

I must say that the best motivational movies i've ever seen are: Into The Wild. Good Will Hunting. But for motivational speeches i'd have to go with Al Pacino's on any given sunday. I'm going to leave you with the video an transcript: I don't know what to say really. Three minutes to the biggest battle of our professional lives all comes down to today. Either we heal as a team or we are going to crumble. Inch by inch play by play till we're finished. We are in hell right now, gentlemen believe me and we can stay here and get the **** kicked out of us or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb out of hell. One inch, at a time. Now I can't do it for you. I'm too old. I look around and I see these young faces and I think I mean I made every wrong choice a middle age man could make. I uh.... I pissed away all my money believe it or not. I chased off anyone who has ever loved me. And lately, I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror. You know when you get old in life things get taken from you. That's, that's part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff. You find out that life is just a game of inches. So is football. Because in either game life or football the margin for error is so small. I mean one half step too late or to early you don't quite make it. One half second too slow or too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They are in ever break of the game every minute, every second. On this team, we fight for that inch On this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We CLAW with our finger nails for that inch. Cause we know when we add up all those inches that's going to make the ****ing difference between WINNING and LOSING between LIVING and DYING. I'll tell you this in any fight it is the guy who is willing to die who is going to win that inch. And I know if I am going to have any life anymore it is because, I am still willing to fight, and die for that inch because that is what LIVING is. The six inches in front of your face. Now I can't make you do it. You gotta look at the guy next to you. Look into his eyes. Now I think you are going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. You are going to see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team because he knows when it comes down to it, you are gonna do the same thing for him. That's a team, gentlemen and either we heal now, as a team, or we will die as individuals. That's football guys. That's all it is. Now, whattaya gonna do? |

Guys, Don't mean to sound like a smart-ass here, but the title of Will Smith's movie is actually: The Pursuit of Happyness. The misspelling is on the outside of the day nursery to which he takes his son. And here's one I would add that has not been mentioned so far: Touching the Void ... Will |

For those who might like something different, along the lines of 'Love Conquers All', consider these two: * An Affair To Remember * The Lake House Of course, there are many in this vein; too many to be Sleepless about. Ivan |

I thought I'd post 2 sports movies, and was scrolling the last few posts before I did. It didn't take me long to find one of them listed! lol. The Rookie. Invincible. Both are along similar lines - stories of 'normal' people who manage to get into the top level of their favourite sport. Baseball for The Rookie, NFL for Invincible. Both based on true stories. I enjoy movies full stop, but loved both of these, they are understated in style which I like. As for the motivational aspect? Well, if you wanted to write a movie about inspiration and achievement using sport, you'd probably come up with something along the lines of these true ones! |

I'd have to say Scarface (Pacino) is my favorite. Revs me up everytime. He goes from nobody to somebody on raw ambition and hard work. Best of all, the only he reason he crumbles is due to his own greed. Classic! |

I watch motivational movies that use multi-platforms to inject subliminal messages of success in your subconscious mind. Words, images, videos, music, affirmations... So powerful. My brain tries to take everything in but those messages shot in split seconds goes right to my subconscious. Very effective...
