Default Are brainwave entrainment CDs effective?

I have been hearing a lot about brainwave entrainment CDs. Some of my friends have tried using some of these CDs and claim that they really work wonders. They have asked me to try one too. But I am not sure whether these CDs or audio programs are really effective. Do they actually help bring about a noticeable change? Kindly suggest.

Hi ashton.alan64,

Its okay to have some doubts about things you have never tried. But once you would use a brainwave entrainment program, you would feel the difference yourself.

There is no doubt that Brainwave Entrainment CDs have helped several people improve their lives. Brainwave Entrainment CD recordings are actually designed in a way to influence the brain waves. Just by listening to a simple audio program can help you improve your concentration, reduce stress, enhance your IQ, creativity and boost performance.

This is no mumbo-jumbo but scientifically proven specially created sounds that help promote deep thinking. With the help of these Brainwave CDs you would be able to think deeper and faster, master your emotions and concentrate better on your work. All this would eventually boost your performance.

I have been using it for quite some time now and I have befitted a lot from it. I am able to concentrate better on my work and feel more focused and energized now. I am also less tired and have been able to stop myself from feeling stressed out. You can check out the CD I use at Gobrainev website . Listen to this daily for 30 minutes and you would see the difference yourself. Do let me know about your experience.

Bye...

I think the reputable ones in the market are Holosync and Mind Spa.

By their prices, you can tell their effectiveness.

That's why I refused to settle for those CDs sold cheaply. Says ALOT of its effectiveness.

I'm currently using Holosync, and yes I am seeing results.

PS: Another brand you might wanna consider is Alpha Sonic.

I think the jury is still out on these products. There's never been any studies that I know about that have proven their efficacy.

It's easy to be skeptical about these entrainment audios, but it's all about individual results. I know this from experience as I've tried a couple, a certain track may not have the same effect on your neighbor as it does on you. The key here is to try several and find something that works for you. This is not a one-size-fits-all proposition, so don't rule it out completely just because you've tried one and found that it didn't work for you.

Right. Unless we try the music by ourselves, we do not know whether they have any affect on us or not. Anyways, I have been hearing a lot about binaural, however, still to try any of them.

I've tried and experimented with several, but this is the one which really worked for me - BrainEV Entrainment

It's highly recommended by Mark Joyner, who is considered one of the 'godfathers' of IM as we know it today. There is a free 30 min demo that you can try out on the site, so give it a spin!

I have personally tried brainwave entrainment and haven't really had much success with them. I DID however have success with something called "Double induction" hypnosis.

What that is is basically 2 voices in the L/R ears talking about different things. I guess it overloads your brain and puts it into a trance like state.

By the way, I've also heard of helmets that use electromagnetic fields to mess with your brain frequency - Don't ask me how I know

One thing I'd advise newbies with brain entrainment audios to do is pick a quiet and dark spot where you'll not be disturbed during the entire listening session. Also, always listen to these entrainment audios on headphones only, as there are specific frequencies generated on these audios that are meant only to be heard by the left and right ears respectively.

There have been thousands upon thousands of successful individuals before "brain entrainment," am I wrong?
Maybe it's cool, I really don't know.
But I wonder, since I get my motivation from the classics: Bible, Cicero, the Vedas, Spinoza, Napoleon Hill, Mark Twain, Stephen Covey, Wayne Dyer, even George Carlin.

They don't work, trust me.
I have yet to see 1 damning study showing it works.
You can find bastardized studies showing that it may have an effect, but I will like you to know, these are funded by the actual companies who sell these ridiculous products.

They definitely are. They direct the brain in a very specific way.

I just recently started experimenting with this and wrote a post about it: Brain Wave Entrainment

You actually alter your state of consciousness by listening to this kind of stuff. It can help train your focus, clear up the clutter in your mind and tons more. I mean... there are tones out there that are specific to helping you be more creative. I've studied the neuroscience to back this up, it works.

RC!

My experience is that SOME of the CDs are very effective at relaxation, sleep aid and for more mental "clarity". That's about it.
I do have a sound and Light machine that is much more effective.
Adding the pulsing lights with the audio and I can zonk out into dreamland very fast.
How fast? heck if I know but it seems quick.AND a very deep rest at that.
Some CDs are sold that have a track that drives certain brands of S&L machines too.
Photosonix Nova Pro is similar to mine. PHOTOSONIX

There are a lot of great entrainment audio's on the market. One of the originators of this method and still one of the best and least expensive is the Monroe Institute. The late Robert Monroe was doing this stuff in the early 1970's.

I also have and use Quantum Mind and Holosync. I use them mainly to get into a meditative state quickly. That's where it's happening. The party's in your head:-)

BrainEv mentioned above looks interesting. Some serious people endorsing it.

Be well and God bless,

This CDs are effective. But they are effective long term. So its like anything else. If you want results you have to be dedicated to get them.

My first question for you is: Why should I trust you? #2: Are you an authority? I've had outstanding results usin Brain EV. Before listening to these "New Age Enlightenment Nonsense CDs I couldn't meditate for 5 minutes because my mind would not "stand still" long enough. Now I can get to a meditative state anytime I want. My life has improved in to many ways to list here, most of the improvements seem to happen with little or no effort on my part. I've had insomnia for 30 years and now I sleep like a baby. But I guess you must be right because YOU haven't seen a study yet to prove they work. Me. I'll just judge by my own personal results and offer no apology.

I couldn't agree more. I got the Brain EV CDs too on a whim, mainly because they had this amazing pre-launch offer several years back. I agree that it works very well in quieting your mind and allowing you to be more in control of your thoughts. I especially like CD #5 (Neptune's Cave), as it goes the deepest of all the CDs and puts me in a very calm and meditative state whenever I listen to it.

The key with these entrainment tracks is to listen to them consistently every day - this'll result in wonderful improvements in all areas of your life, such as you've observed.

Wikipedia has an article that tells you a bit about what is known about BW Entrainment so far and gives you a glimpse into both sides of the story. Of course, it's not the most reliable source on the planet.

And yes, there are many kinds of BW Entrainment products on the market. Binaural beats, isochronic tones and combinations of other methods, that produce mixed results in different people.

I'm studying psychology and in my university we're allowed to play with EEG machines and polygraphs. So I tried monitoring a few classmates of mine listening to isochronic tones, and it did produce some changes in their neural patterns, at least for most of them.

However, I'm guessing the relationships between that and actual results (increased productivity, heightened states of creativity) are a bit more complex and subtle. There may be more than one determining factor in your productivity - such as your mindset, energy levels, the stock of intrinsic motivation that you've already built up, etc.
