Even though I tell people to check out Wallace Wattle I wouldn't put him on a top ten list personally - his stuff is too vulnerable to ignorant, childish interpretation. I'd put The Magic Of Thinking Big up there... and Psychocybernetics near the top - both are practical guidebooks. Also The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. |

The very first I ever read is still one of my favorites: M.R. Kopmeyer: 'How To Get Whatever You Want' Really hard to get these days. I had to order from a publishing house in india to get a new copy. Others that really had an impact: Tony Robbins: 'Unlimited Power' & 'Awaken The Giant Within' Catherine Ponder: 'Pray And Grow Rich', one of the earliest books of new thought that actually teaches releasing stuff while others always ignored the topic and actually made you ignore what's bad in your life. She really deserves credit for understanding and presenting that topic. (Chapter 4) Eckhart Tolle: 'A New Earth' I've been working with that for a few months now. I'd say nothing had a larger impact on changing myself than applying this. Ralf |

Wow. What a great list of personal development books you have here. I have always enjoyed sitting down and reading a good personal development book. When you read one you walk away feeling empowered and on top of the world. And so many times you take so much away from the book and are able to apply it to your daily lives and many times even your business. I have read a handful of the book mentioned and have also put a few on them on my "Must Read", List. Thanks, Vera |

I agree about Catherin Ponder - also someone disliked "Science of Growing Rich" by Wattle. I liked it very much. A few other books and authors worth looking at: Your money or your life by Joe Dominguez and Vicki Robin Books by Joseph Murphy and Charles Fillmore. Books by Florence Scovel Shinn especially "The game of life and how to play it." | |

I agree about " The Power of Your Subconscious Mind " - excellent book. All other Law of Attraction authors follow each other - only think is there is no "Law of Attraction". One of only three authors in this specific area to get it right is The Baron Eugene Fersen. Charles Haanel and a few others were students of his. Science of Being in Twenty Seven Lessons stands alone as the ultimate work: eBook: Science of Being in Twenty Seven Lessons Amazon.com: Science of Being in Twenty Seven Lessons 660 pages of pure Gold. |

The first book that radically changed my mind about business was Wave 4: Network Marketing in the 21st Century by Richard Poe. That really got me thinking about residual income and creating systems to follow. The ones that come quickly to my mind: Wave 4: Richard Poe Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway: Susan Jeffers Power of Focus: Jack Canfield Cashflow Quadrant: Robert Kiyosaki One Minute Millionaire: Bob Allen Who Moved My Cheese: Spencer Johnson "Feel the Fear" is especially well-loved. I read that every other year or so...I find it helps me get through my own self-imposed hang-ups ![]() -Buzzy |

My top ten self improvement books are: 1. The Richest Man In Babylon - George S Clason 2. 7 Habits - Stephen Covey 3. Manifesto - Barefoot Doctor 4. Psycho Cybernetics - Maxwell Maltz 5. The Secret of Letting Go - Guy Finley 6. Stop Thinking Start Living - Richard Carlson 7. Awaken The Giant Within - Tony Robbins 8. Success through a positive mental attitude - W Clement Stone 9. The EMyth - Micheal Gerber 10. How to get from where you are to where you want to be - Jack Canfield All of these have inspired me in different ways and had a positive impact on my life. The book that's been the foundation for my reading of other self-help books is: Boundaries: When to Say YES, When to Say NO, To Take Control of Your Life, by Henry Cloud and John Townsend In my opinion other self-help topics can only go so far if you don't have a firm foundation in setting personal boundaries. |

I've read most everybook listed on this post and there is 1 book that brings it all together perfectly...I didn't see it mentioned.... Secret of the Ages by Robert Collier...Not only did he write the best book ever but he's also the man who coined the copywriting term "Meet them at the conversation in their head"...His Robert Collier Letter book is a MUST read for anyone. |

One book that never gets any love or mention: Pushing To The Front by Orison Swett Marden. Originally published in 1894 (but revised in 1911), it's an 800 page beast on par with Hill's Law Of Success. It's also available free: Door Number One - Pushing To The Front By Orision Swett Marden |

Matt, I only heard of Orison Swett Marden thanks to a quote in "Awaken the Giant Within". I followed up on his name probably over a year ago, and had since forgotten all about him -- thanks for the reminder and the link! |

I read only Thinks and Grow Rich by Naopleon Hill and I'm really happy that you choose to place that in first position. I read also the Gardenbella suggested Who Moved My Cheese by Johnson Spencer, that's really interesting. For the others... I will try to read them in a next future. Goodbye |
