Would it be something more innate like courage and confidence or something from external source such as knowledge and encouragement?

From my research - of which I've done a great deal - the most persistent, limiting factor is a THOUGHT. Because most people do not train themselves in the control of Thought itself, they are generally unaware that what they believe is entirely different than objective reality. For most people, what they THINK - their opinions, beliefs, value, and assumptions - equate to reality. Therefore, when such a person asks themselves what their limits are, the first thing that occurs is that their brain reaches into itself to excavate a THOUGHT or series of thoughts and feeds that to the 'self awareness' as 'the answer to the question posed'. Because the person is not trained in thought control, they take the impression they get in their mind as THE TRUTH about themselves. Now, a person who has trained their mind in the nature, control, and proper use of Thought for the purposes of greater life success will ask the same question, and perhaps receive a similar reaction in their brain; however, knowing better, they dismiss the thought, and actually look around their environment to see if there's a better answer - a bigger truth. For instance, they may go to the library and look up the biography of someone in their field who has achieved massive success, and then write out a plan of action based on what the most successful people have done. Then, that person has a NEW IDEA to replace the previous, limiting idea, and they can act from that new standard. Better yet, such a mentally disciplined human being might ask the question and decide simply to go as far as their talent and skill can take them, then do what's necessary to go even further! Of course, the former is limited by their thought, while the latter, the mentally trained person, does not allow any assumption to restrict their possibilities. |

the biggest factor in breaking ones limits is BELIEFS and PERSONAL IMAGE. everything comes first in the form of thought and when you give it enought power it can become a BELIEF. and when you actually start to think you realize that there is no such thing as fake in this world, because everything is fake. All our beliefs are made up of thoughts while expiriencing some kind of circumstances. So as you start QUESTIONING those beliefs and you inevitably realize that everything you believe is fake and made up by yourself, only then you realize that you can actually change the way you think! then all the things change... |

It would be believing in yourself and build a strong mind that is more sold than a rock. Its all about the way we think and that is the best thing you could change if you want to achieve a curtain goal.

I agree that you can change the way you think! Because you have to be adaptable to certain conditions and go beyond mediocrity. You only limit yourself to what is naturally innate and practiced in your thought. But if you try to explore beyond the environment that works for you, you might hit a goldmine, or you go bust risking without thinking and realizing hindrances along the way. Thought process is upgradable like your PC. The speed and information you gather will be downloaded for future reference. Fresh ideas are always around the corner. Think like what Entrepreneurs would do, find a way! INVENT or INNOVATE! |

This is an area I've had to contend with a lot. I learned this lesson in a very memorable way: that you can do anything you want if you take small enough steps. If you're afraid or overwhelmed, just take smaller steps towards that goal. Keep moving in that direction - you'll get there eventually. As a famous copywriter [Bowerman?] said, If you don't quit, you can't fail. All I just need to take tiny baby-steps. If it seems too difficult, take smaller steps. In fact, I can do anything I truly want to - all I have to do is break it down into tiny-sized steps! |

I think the biggest factor in breaking through limits is belief - belief in ourselves (self image) and belief in our abilities. It is often said that our thoughts are our reality and what we consider to be attainable is governed by what we believe at the deepest subconcious level. By improving our self image we build an innate sense of self worth and believe we are deserving of success. This is more than half the battle and it then remains for us to overcome any debilitating thoughts regarding our abilities. Our view of what we can or cannot do is generally a learned response which can be unlearned. Regards George |
